Commanche Jim
"The only thing I know, man, is that every time I go out there, I give 100 percent because I like to win and I hate to lose. It looks like a lot of guys in here don't want to play the game the right way.Oh boy. That's not good for team chemistry.
nbdyknws
Thats good though, he is pitching great and he isn't getting much help, why not call out the team and try and get them pumped up to play. This year they had a team that could have atleast won the wildcard and they are still playing good but just not playoff caliber.Hopefully Twins management can start to realize a few problems and fix them by next year. buzzsaw
On one hand I understand the frustration, on the other he needs to just suck it up and do his part instead of trying to call his teammates out! If he were a real leader he would just call the other team cheaters!! Don't you think?!
Down to Earth
You don't hear Clemens sounding off like that this year. He's probably been the biggest hard luck pitcher this year. Put him on any other team(well maybe not the Twins) and he is the Cy Young winner.
rundrave
Jim, I agree it probably wasnt the best thing for the team to sound off like that. But the article you probably saw on espn, that was taken from the StarTribune failed to mention the following: Meanwhile, Jones sat two clubhouse stalls down from Silva. "I heard [the interview], but I'm not going to get into it," Jones said. ... "If the blame can keep getting placed on the hitters, the position players, we can take it. That's fine. None of the position players will say anything about that because that is not how it's supposed to go. Hey, the pitcher pitched well enough to win. We didn't play well." I dont think chemistry is an issue with the twins. They just flat out cant hit the ball. Silvia pitched great, his defense let him down on several plays. CNY Tim
DTE if Clemens had run support the wild card would be wrapped up for them by now... Good point...
juggs
Good for Silva. This team DOESN'T play the game right, at least not on the offensive side of the ball. If I were a Twins pitcher I'd be hot, too. These guys can't even bunt a runner over for crying out loud. Enough "Minnesota Nice" tell it like it is. The hitters need a serious enema. IFallsRon
Saw at the end of the KARE news that Lohse took a bat to a couple doors after he was hooked after two mediocre innings. Course the talking head was speculating that he wouldn't be a Twin much longer. Lohse better be enjoying his fat paycheck because he probably won't see another. You can bet that the Twins will be looking hard at Baker and Liriano as starters next year.
