I just seen on another forum that Tommy Meyer and John Tesch finished 2 and 3 in the A feature last night at Batesville AR. They will start inside row 2 and 3 for the $100,000 to win on sat. Not bad out of 180 cars, John took like 15th at the race last year and Bloomquist won it. Would be a fun one to watch.

You should have seen Myer last weekend at Slayton. He started like 12th or somewhere back there and he had taken the lead just after halfway. Man that guy can work traffic, its no wonder he always leads in passing points. That's a money on the line, hopefully those guys have a good run. I think that's the one where they ran against Bill Elliot and some of those other guys last year isn't it?

Jason Krohn who's our local big gun from Slayton ran that race and finished like 11th or something. He runs with the USMTS guys about 1/3 of the time now. Too much money and too good of a driver/car to run locally...

He had just a terrible re-start there after that caution when he got passed and lost the lead. I don't know what happened there, looked like he brought them down to the flag SUPER slow and those guys both just smoked him...

Krohn's lap time was like 24th fastest. Shyrock was 3rd and meyer 4th. Tesch was 26th. Great to see these guys runnin with the best in the country. Well i guess we can say that they are some of the best modified drivers in the country.

If I had Krohns money I'd race too. But I'd be in the bomber class as that dude can drive, and I can't. Actually, if I had the kind of money it takes to race that class I'd buy a new boat first, then go racing. grin.gif

I haven't done a lot of dirt track racing in my life but I'm thinking there's a little more to it than just going fast and turning left.

Not much to it if you can get your car set-up to work, then driving the car isnt bad,now you have to get the starts down and learn how to pass, which money cant buy, olny experience will work, you have to pay your dues.

That's a big IF on the setup, but yes I pretty much agree. Passing is really hard on these small bullring tracks we mostly have around here. There really isn't much room, and a car that doesn't run a line and you can't pass can slow you down a lot and then the train is coming... Kenny Shrader is dead on right when he gives the tip that you have to pass people as soon as you catch them on dirt. You are hosed if you don't.

Lawdog, thats why you sometimes have to use your front bumper to thier left rear, not nice, but you cant follow the whole race.Nice to make friends, but nicer to win.

Had a great night Friday. Needed it too after a very frustrating month of running like junk...

That site is my best source for area racing news.

Hey Dog, just wanted to say good luck to ya and hope your different set-up keeps working for you this Friday.

If the fellas at the Coop get my RV fixed (hope, hope, hope, pray, pray, pray) I'll be leaving for Cedar Lake on Thursday. If not, I'll be at the track in Slayton rootin ya on Friday. Nothing personal dude, I'm hoping I won't be in Slayton on Friday.

Good luck to ya. Keep er rubber side down. grin.gif

Thanks Pier and Boiler... It was a very fun night. Need to have something like that at least once in a while to keep you coming back all the time.

Those boys at the coop will have you out to the campground Boiler. Have fun! I'm off next week too. Wisc. Dells with the best gal and her little ones... Course I'm not leaving til after the races and I made sure we'd be back before next week's show too!

Thanks, and yes there is an old superstition about that, but I'm not too superstitious (although with this car I was starting to wonder it has seemed jinxed at times).

Steve Kinser runs green and he's the undisputed King of the Outlaws, and Bobby Labonte won a Winston Cup with a green car, so I figure that superstition should be about gone by now.

Hey Dog. Well, it looks like the ole RV is going to stay broken for a while. Snapped the cam. Ouch.

Oh man that stinks...AND COSTS.

I'm not missing the USA Nationals out in Cedar Lake for nothing. Time to find the tent. I think it's green. Does that mean it's going to rain?????

Hopefully you get a little break from this heat for tenting. I do see the forecast calling for some rain though frown.gif Oh well, when was the last time the weathermen were actually right?!?!?!?!!!!
