That race pretty well summed up 24's season. Good fast car and no results. That was a top five finish gone in just a few laps with no brakes. 25th place with that car and driver is just a shame.

There is something very, very wrong with the #24 team.

His cars are junk!!

I'd say he has a significant problem in the engineering department, and some heads need to roll.

I don't know UncleBill. He had the best car at Sonoma and had a top five car at Loudon on Sunday too. He's had good fast cars everywhere but Michigan and Chicago really. They are just having rotten luck and fluke failures.

Gordons just had alot of bad luck.I wish his crew and all team people were helping Jr and im sure he would be higher in points chase.He has a great team and resources and also cant get the bad luck monkey off his back.No one needs to be let go,I believe that would only slow Jeff down.IMO

I've been watching (and attending) Nascar races since the early nineties. How bout you ??

I did'nt say "fire everybody", but they ought to fire somebody.

You wait and see who when they don't make the chase.

What makes you believe J.J. and Gordon employ the same engineering staff ?? and why should they ??

What about Vickers ?? and Busch ??

If that was the case, would they not be carbon copies of each other ??

Here are a few reasons why I believe the #24 team engineering staff to be lacking some....ummm ....machanical aptitude.

New England: Brake failure.

Chicago: Accident. By Gordon's own admission they were too slow to stay in the front and out of the way of lapped traffic.

Sonoma: Faulty transmission linkages. (J. Johnson, K. Busch, also had faulty linkage)

Michigan: Gordon pits repeatably with excessive right front tire wear.

Atlanta: Gordon crashes on the first lap with an ill handling car.

California: Gordon blows an engine.

I don't believe in luck !! (Good or bad)

mnfishingguy: If I were to bet it would be that neither one of them will make it unless 8-13th totally fall apart then they might stand a chance.Both will need to run great and then have alot of things work out for them.

I'm not a big Jeffy fan but the only reason I said that is because he is a threat to win at every race left before the chase begins. He has won 4 in a row before. I don't think he can win four now but look what stewart did. He knocked off something like 265 points in the last four races. It could happen.

I had heard that the cordinator for the 24 and 48 has moved to the 25 and 5. Whatever a cordinator is I dont know?? It seems that maybe Hendrick is concentrating on the younger drivers maybe. Although JJ is leading it seems that lately Vickers and Kyle have had better cars maybe??? As far as Wonderboy is, his wins have come on plates and a short track, with the new tires and spoiler maybe they are having a tough time on the others as are other teams ie.. DEI
