GPS Question

Which GPS would you recommend for a person who fishes the same lake (most of the time), 16000 acres, has a lake map with coordinates and may want to fish a few others. I am open to mapping, however do I need all the bells and whistles. Which one would give me, maybe a bell and a not to noisy whistle

I am a big fan of Garmin hand helds. I have the IIIplus and my brother has the V model. He has all the bells and whistles that you don't need. My boat has a Lowrance GPS/graph but I still use my Garmin because it is easier to program. My dad has a Magellan and nobody can figure that sucker out....

I also have a Garmin, mine is a 12 XL. Very easy to use very accurate and reliable. I have had it for about 5 years now.I am not saying it is the best, but I have never been unhappy with it or felt I needed to up-grade.

I hve the Garmin 76S. U can get the maps for the rivers and lakes for your area and download them to the hand held. I find the 76S very easy to use and has more than enough space (24).

Garmin all the way. Map76S is great in the air, on the road, in the woods, or on the water. I've used the 12, 12XL, III+ quite a bit and a few others not as much. All are user friendly. Garmin has introduced several new models that I am unfamiliar with. I'm sure they all live up to the Garmin reputation.

You just have to decide what you need in a GPS and go from there.

Garmin 76!!!! Its user friendly, and able to pick up what is called WAAS satellites. Most of the time its within 15'-25'. It does have all the bells and whistles, but you will only need and use only 5% of the features. It is great on batteries, but you do need to keep it in a pocket on the inside of your coat when its cold out.

I have the Garmin 176C. I have it mounted to the handlebars of my ATV and plugged into the ATV battery. During the cold snap I left it on all day in 0 degree weather. When I left for home after 7 PM that evening it was working perfectly. The 176C is the color display and the 176 is b&w at a lesser cost.
