Matt Johnson
I had a great time up on Whitefish with all of you! Those were truly some impressive smallies that Tom and Deitz brought in! Wow! Great fish guys! The crappies Brad and Charlie brought in were very nice as well. We found the bass and pike, no doubt about that, but finding a pike that went over 20 inches and a bass over 2 pounds seemed to be tough. I don't think I've ever caught more pike in one day in my entire life, but the norm seemed to be 14-18 inches, just little ones. Still a lot of fun though. Some very impressive weights brought in given the conditions and it seemed like everyone caught fish and had a good time. I even heard a little something about one of the teams going duck hunting!?!? I wish I could have seen that one. A largie I got pre-fishing See everyone at Ida! Good Fishin, Matt Johnson
Bushwacker
There were some very impressive weights put up and some very nice fish. Like Matt said, we caught a ton of fish and had non-stop action the whole time, but catching a bass over 12" was just not happening. After 15 10"ers a guy get a little frusterated. Hopefully the weather cooperates a little better for the Ida tournament and we can actually prefish and get a chance hang out and actually get to know everyone before the actual start of the tournament. I'm heading out in ten minutes to try to take out my small fish frusterations on a muskie or two
Borch
It was definitely a lot of fun! If I had been anything other than a net man for my partner we might have done a bit better. But that's how it goes Definitely some impressive catches by most of the teams. Especially when you figure in the unstable weather we were dealing with. I'll see you all at Ida. See you in a few weeks!
Sheephead Slayer
What a blast this weekend, my gear is all laying out right now drying out Was nice to meet some new people, and to Nick/Jon and others that didn't get to the campsite, i hope you can for Ida. I believe Ron was generous enough (again) to offer up some land he bought for us all to camp on. If you have any questions as to where and when I'm sure you can get that info here. Then you'll know why the logo is "we have more fun" See ya all in 3 weeks Kevin

GullGuide
It was a tough bite for sure. On the way back to weigh-in I seriously thought we would get it handed to us, I had no idea we had that much weight. We tried all of my go-to spots and luckilly we eek'ed out a W. I'm pretty sure Deitz had a good time for never being on the lake before, how was the guided fishing there buddy?...LOL It was great to meet all the new guys, even though I crashed out early on Saturday night. I'm going to enjoy this win at least until Ida where I fully expect Ron and Steve to show us how it's all done....and I expect Chuck to get back in the top 3...LOL...how long has it been since THAT happened? Finishing out of the top 3?

Matt Johnson
XXX... LOL Yeah Deitz, I felt bad for you so I let you win those last 3 to get ahead There were too many FMer's watching and I didn't want them to see you get beat by the young guy Ok, all joking aside, that was a lot fun, some serious competition and it was great to get a chance to BS with you a little again. However, I think there will be a rematch in the near future... Tom, I think you're too hard on yourself, if I would have brought in three monster smallies and the panfish that the two of you caught I would have been feeling pretty good. If I wouldn't have known better, I would have thought those were Gull smallies Just kidding. Nice fish man! And it was nice sitting down for a bite to eat with you afterwards as well... BDR and I are already planning our strategy for Ida... We have two highly trained spies who have been told to follow a black Skeeter and a blue Skeeter, so if any of you have boats like that don't worry about the people down the shoreline with binoculars, they are only bird watching Good Fishin, Matt Johnson

ChuckN
Matt, you won't find the stealth, and don't even try to keep up. LOL Tom, all we needed was the northerns. I had them pegged pre-fishing, I did. That's fishing!! Oh, and don't make me remind you of Pokegama. Yes, we have our bad days like everyone else. Even having Paul and Kevin follow us from miles behind to the exact same location was interesting too. That reminds me, don't we have rules about fishing so many yards apart? I think 15 yards is too close for comfort. Ah, consider that your birthday gift buddy (Happy Birthday BTW). LMAO!! At least you guys witnessed Aaron blast a cast on a crankbait about 40 yards and I hear a "OH NO!!" and SPLASH!!! A drake Mallard flew into his crankbait in mid-air, mallard crashed to the water, the #1 all time favorite, discontinued lure, was lost on the 1st cast when the line broke somehow from the duck. Cripes. Duck flew away unharmed and we still wonder what happened. Deitz, glad you got a taste of victory with the Herminator. Just hope he can keep it up when I am oh, so, lucky in my first bass tourney with the guy. ] It was a great time guys, hope the fun continues!!! GullGuide
LOL Chuck! This was the only tournament on the schedule this year that I was really comfortable with. I've never been on Ida, and it's been 6 years since I've been on Rush. Whitefish is like that, you think you have em pegged and poof...no fishies no where. Sheepie....yea, he must have taken my idea about downloading the trail onto an empty MMC...whoooohahahaha Matt, there are no smallies in Gull ...lol, actually there are a few, but very few and far between....why do you think it took so long for me to get bait Saturday night?...LOL...j/k

I haven't fished any of the lakes on this years schedule. Although that's one of the draws for me. Getting to fish some new water. As far as the time it took you to get those redtails. I figured that most of the baitshops you found had "alive" redtails. We all know how you feel fishing with "alive" bait.
JJA
Well we didn't have the best luck but we had fun. It was our first event ever and I have already been counting the days to the next one. I hope to do better on Ida which should not be hard to do as we only caught 2 legal fish. Great job to the top 3 teams, I was impressed that you found such nice fish. I guess we need to do a bit more prefishing on Ida. Have a good one!
Matt Johnson
Tom, I just figured you stopped at Sugar Daddy's for a couple hours Saturday night I guess I was wrong... I'm looking forward to Ida as well, another new body of water for BDR and me and it'll be like another mini-vacation! Just messin with ya bud - congrats on the 1st place finish!CD - what the hey - still a little bad luck left over from Pokeg or what??Seriously guys - I sure wish I was able to fish the league this year.
