Rapala Customer Service; Rapalas Falling apart

Good evening Everyone Just got back in from fishing Forest Lake where I had planed on using my DT series lures from Rapala. Only problem was that I could only get 1 of my 5 or 6 DT series to stay together. The Lips either broke or Came right out of the lure; I even had a fish on one and just got the lip back, no lure. Kinda makes me wonder what they are doing with the lures now a day. But anyhow I was wondering if anyone had a Customer Service number to them or an email address or something, the Rapala web site kind of sucks to find stuff like that. Thanks in advance for any info and if anyone else has had this happen please post. I want to make sure I'm not just having bad luck, at first I thought I did something wrong! blush.gif but then another broke ...and then just the lip came in.and then another broke confused.gif ok ok ok I will truely be quiet this time Thanks

I got one DT-10 that did that to me also. And I have one other Rapala that did it to me.

I looked all over the internet for a customer service email or something and I found nothing! Kind of disappointing actually.

If someone has something that would be cool!

Many of the Rapala lures have a lifetime replacement. You can send broken one into this address and just pay the shipping there.

I'ce had 2 countdowns and a floating rapala have the bills break in half on them, rendering them usless. All of them were being used, then taken off and put into my tackle box, they were set in gentle and the lid was closed gently, so i have no idea when they would have had the pressure on them to break, really ruins a day when you get out to the lake and your hot lure from 2 days ago is useless.

Borch, Thank you very much for the information and where to send them, I have a few other lures that i would like to send them also. I didnt realize that they actualy have a Lifetime warranty on them. That makes me feel a little better. But I have read on other forms that The MN location has bad C/s I hope not! Ill let you all know when I get information back..

----Mr. Special Thats good to know, but I would like to let Rapala know. I mean I hope they dont know that the quality of their lures are going down hill on a new product, and not knowing and letting it slide because it was "just a bad batch" Ive had that happen to me in the past and I got a little fustrated when they told me that there was nothing they could do but suggested that i bring it back to the manufacture and that just didnt seam to answer my question about what they were going to do to fix the situation, thats leaving it up to the store that sells their product because its a good selling item. *not rapala in that case* But it could very well turn out to be them. HOpefully it all turns out a o k confused.gif

Had 2 bills pull out of the same type rapala lures and just brought what was left to G.M. and they replaced them, Talked to a Rep about my problem with there lures and he told me Bummer and walked away

Well I spoke with a very frienly gentelman at Normark Corp by the name of Matt today and he told me to go ahead and send them in and it should take 4-6 weeks frown.gifbut i guess thats better than going and throwing them away and buying new ones. I also Informed him of this site so maybe we will be hearing from him soon. Have a great fishing weekend everyone

What misfortunes everyone is talking about. All I have to say is that last weekend I caught a 21" 5 pound largemouth on a DT 6 perch color. I was working the weed line that had a nice drop off after it. Nicest catch of the year so far, and it seems to me that I catch way more fish on Rapalas, (DT's, Xraps and Husky Jerks) compared to other baits. Not including when I fish plastic.

Any feadback? Good luck for Musky if anyone goes.

I'm a BIG fan of Rapala. I'll take a shad rap or one of the original baits before pretty much anything. There are some newer style crank baits that they have been selling that I don't think are all that tremendous though. My guess is some rapala marketing guy had a great idea to make some lures cheaper and make even more cash. I love Mister Twister too but they should either get good ones or get out of the lead head jig biz.

I get a kick out of the marketing geniuses who cut corners, cut costs, try to expand into other "new" areas all in the name of MORE. A lot of companies loose sight of where they came from and what made them successful in the first place....Anybody want to buy a Rapala folding landing net? I opened it up once and it came apart...better go get a Beckman.

No, I'm a fan not a promoter. Promoters get a salary and maybe a free hat or two. wink.gif

One of the son's of the founder has taken control of Rapala and is in the expansion mode. They've bought Blue Fox, Storm and some other companies. They are also expanding into rods, reels and other gear. So some problems are to be expected. You notice it's only the "plastic" lures that have some problems? Most of these are new models and are made in China. Anyway, Rap will replace any lure. If a lure breaks or doesn't suspend just take it back to where you bought it. The store should replace them then and there. My sons have worked summers at Normark for a few years now and they see a lot of returns which Normark always replaces no questions asked. I have had a few DT bills bust on me and got replacements right away. They know about the problems from the returns they get but it wouldn't hurt to write them. And they know about this site.
