basscastin
Looking for any insider info from Procraft boat owners. I am close to making my desicion on my new boat, the 2005 200 combo from Procraft is what I am leaning towards. Anyone out there have any good, bad or other info/suggestions that I could use?Thank you in advance.
0 jerkin'm
Buddy of mine had a procraft bass boat, 2001 I think, seats were shot within a year of use. A lot of shoddy fitting stuff too. Quality of workmanship just not there. If you have the money, go with a skeeter or ranger.
0 buzzsaw
That would be Guttenpiggy! I second what the chef had to say... Ranger or Skeeter on the Bass boats or a Crestliner or Lund on the deep V all around boats.
0 mamohr686
I owned a 1992 procraft V180 and would second the above. Back when I purchased the boat they were made by the brunswick corp and now are part of tracker marine. Resale is poor and they used wood instead of composite construction. I always got wet in a cross wind and worst off all when I made a hard turn above 50mph the boat would blow out and do a jet-ski like 180' due to the hull design on the viper series. I freaked out more than one non-boater with this manuver. I would guess things have changed in 10 years but resale and features remain behing other boat builders. 0 Giant_Jackpot
Well, if you do go with the Pro-Craft then don’t forget to get one of those crooked post bow seats like Bill Dance uses. Then you would never have to stand up once while you are fishing!
0 Superduty
I had a 1989 Procraft bass boat made by Brunswick. It was a very heavy hull, but I had no issues with the boat. I think the quality may have decreased with the transfer to Tracker marine ownership. I would rate todays Procrafts equal with todays Nitro fiberglass bass boats. Plenty of boat for the average guy, but if you are planning on giving it a good pounding in rough water every day I would look at a different name brand. For weekend use on most small to medium size bass lakes I don't think you would have any problems. I think you get what you pay for when it comes to fiberglass boats. (like most outdoor products) One other note, I had a difficult time selling my older Procraft when I bought a new boat.
0 99ranger
I would go with a Ranger or Skeeter as well. They are built better and will stand up better for the use. Also if any problems they will stand behind there workmanship.
