    Weight????

OK, maybe hater was a little strong....... Big fish are fun no matter what. But maybe we should all chip in and buy a new ruler for you since yours seems to have shrunk over the years?

    Weight????

I'll join the haters...... Maybe 6 lbs.
  3. Getting in a little late on this discussion but I have to agree with Juneau on this one. NASCAR loves this stuff Have you been to the NASCAR web site this week? They are actually promoting the feud between Carl and Brad. It's a banner add right at the top and clicking on it takes you to their Track Pass Race View page where they are trying to sell you something. I don't think the NASCAR execs told Carl to go and wreck Brad but they all smiled when it happened. It's all about the money boys. Don't forget it.
  4. It's always too long before the season starts... Even one day before is too long. The North Metro chapter of MI is having a banquet on January 31, 2009. At least these events can give some relief to the muskie blues. Google the web site to check out the details.
  5. Not that this post will help your situation but it always amazes me that a dealer will let a boat go out of the showroom with such a mismatch in the prop. I have bought two boats from Dan’s Marine in Bloomington in the past six years and both were propped correctly right out of the gate. Sorry I can’t help you select the right prop, but your dealer sure did not do you any favors……
  6. Kabetogema, Rainy, Crane, Vermilion just to name a few. Most of these are island or remote sites. No electricity....
  7. Just an FYI. Here is the schedule the North Metro used last year and the rules we use. No hard sell here but you do have to be a member to participate in the North Metro league (no fee for the league once you are a member). We do have prizes like a hat and jacket for the winner but the main reason we do it is just to get together and have fun. June 5th Bald Eagle Lake June 12th Lake Independence June 19th Chapter Picnic June 21st Forest Lake June 26th White Bear Lake July 17th Lake Minnetonka Aug 14th Forest Lake Aug 21st Bald Eagle Lake Aug 28th Lake Independence Scoring 4 points for a 30" muskie and 1 point for each inch over 30". This is the same as the members only contest. 3 points per event fished. Bonus 2 points will be awarded for each partner during the league. 4 points if the partner is a new member of the chapter in 2007. Each partner only counts one time during the league. You may only count one partner per event. Hours: 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm June and July, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm in August.
  8. We still have tickets available for the banquet. Please let me know if you have any questions.
  9. I think I am going to do like Scoot and avoid the crowds on opener. If I can’t keep that thought then I will probably hit Indy. And if you are looking for something to scratch your muskie itch before the opener and before the Expo in Blaine, check out the post in the League/Tournament forum for the North Metro Muskies Inc Banquet. Pete Maina will be speaking and we have over $6000 worth of raffle prizes to give away. The Big door prize this year is a 2 day guided trip with Jason Hamernick on Mille Lacs including lodging.
  10. Check out Dan's Southside Marine in Bloomington.
  11. It was nice to have the show in Medina to help break the winter muskie blues. Too bad it got canceled If you are looking for something “muskie” to do before the Blaine show, check out the North Metro MI banquet. Pete Maina is the speaker. Check out the post in the Tournament/League forum
  12. Yeah, at least one part of the treble hangs over mine as you can see. I’m not sure if you can get a bucket that has a double rim on it. I guess you could get a thin piece of plastic and wrap it around the bucket and use standoffs or washers to create the gap as you bolt it on. Anyway, mine is definitely not unique but works well for me (no dog or kids crawling around in the boat). http://usera.imagecave.com/giantjackpot/DSC04192Small.JPG
  13. Hmmmmmmmm.... I'm not sure why you want the lures outside of the bucket. What about the hooks on the lower part of the lure? I would think they would be a hazard as well. Maybe I am missing something. I'll send the pic and you can tell me if it will work for you. Mine also has a hole in the bottom for the seat post
  14. Scoot, My wife had a cat litter bucket that I use. It is the same diameter as a five gallon bucket and I think it is about a foot high. I installed a couple of pieces of thin plywood across the middle so I could hang more lures inside. I can take a picture of it tonight and post it. I would not worry about the hooks on the outside of the bucket. This has not been a problem for me. The nice thing about the bucket is you will probably hang most of your favorites there and when you fish out of someone else’s boat, you have most of what you need in one spot. Just grab it and go.
  15. To me that is high. I sold a 2000 1750 Fish Hawk with 70hp 4 stroke tiller for about $9000 last year. I know this is not apples to apples but the 4 stroke does have a premium over the 2 stroke.
