Difference between the LMS332 and the 330?

waskawood

Question

Can anyone tell me what is better about the LMS-332c over the LMS-330c? I can buy a new 330 for a hundred bucks cheaper than a new 332. I don't want to be frugal if the newer version is that much better. Thanks for any help.

A bigger display...That is it. 332 Has a 480 display and the 330 has the 320 display. I have the 330-LMS and it is a great unit. Now all I need to do is get the Lakemaster MMC chip and it will be ready for open water season this year.

Take care!

Waskawood, I bought the 330 last year and it works great. The 332 has more pixels so the resolution is greater but the 330 is very clear and easy to see with my 53yr old eyes, even in bright sunlight. I'd get the 330 and spend the extra 100 on a lake maps chip. The screen size is the same in both units. Good Luck DrJ.

The screen on the 332 is bigger than on the 330. Lowrance's specs say that both are 5 inch screens, but if you look at them side-by-side in a store you will see that the 332 is clearly a larger screen. Not a lot larger, but definately larger.

And as the others have mentioned, the 332 has a higher pixel count and therefore better resolution.

I bought the 332 this year. I figured with a sonar/gps combo unit I wanted the bigger screen. I wanted the higher resolution to get the most out of the mapping features, and I use my sonar constantly to pick apart the bottom or look for suspended bait and fish so I wanted the higher resolution for that too. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the 330, I'm just saying that for me the 332 was a better way to go. Good luck with your choice.

M-Muskie- Lake chip??

If you are talking about the LakeMaster Chips- then yes! Would you rather try to mess with a map and figure out a general spot or would you like to be looking at your Map screen and see (as you are crusin' along the water) 25ft, 24ft, 23ft,....19ft BINGO I found the flat cool.gif Easy as 1-2-3!
