JIvers
ESPN, the Star-Trib, Pioneer-Press, and CNNSI.com are reporting that Mike Tice is being investigated by the NFL for violating the league's Super Bowl ticket re-sale policy. Tice denies any wrongdoing, but admits to meeting with league security officials. Sources claim Tice has been re-selling Super Bowl tickets allocated to the Vikings at a profit, in violation of an agreement NFL coaches must sign.If this is proven true, I would like to see Tice step down now, so a new coach can be in place soon. IFallsRon
Georgia Frontieri's husband went to prison for tax evasion when he sold a surplus of SB tickets in LA and didn't claim the profits.
GullGuide
It came from an unnamed source with an admitted axe to grind. Can anyone say....Randy Moss? Or it could have been someone who was just released or a free agent that they refuse to bring back. I find it hard to believe if it came from someone who is admittingly out to get him. Stratosman
I just looked on the ESPN HSOforum and Tice had an interview with Chris Mortensen and admitted scalping tickets as a assistant coach but never as the head coach. The anonymous player stated that Tice was the man to see if you wanted to move tickets and that assistant coaches often scalped tickets to supplement their low salaries(?) The IRS would be interested to find out the monies made by doing this I bet. This player also admitted he had an axe to grind with Tice so who really knows what's going on. Nothing in sports surprises me any more.
