Eric Wettschreck
I'll keep everyone posted as to when the snows show up down here in my neck of the prairie. There are a good share of farmers that, if asked nicely, will let you hunt their fields. As far as I see it, come on out and shoot some snows. If they show up in force like they did last spring there will be plenty for everyone.

koWALLEYEski
I will also keep everyone posted on the snow geese around the Fergus area. Late season there were a few around but nothing spectacular.
tealitup
Well - My hunting partner and I were going to try some snows this year.. but I think his wife is a little against it. If anyone wants to meet up for a hunt let me know. I can take off anytime and go anyplace. I have no snow decoys, but would buy some. Maybe we can have a group hunt with everyone here. koWALLEYEski
That sounds like a great idea. I hope we get a lot of snows here in Fergus. I know almost all the guides around so it wouldnt be hard to find a field. My question is whos supplying the brew.
WalleyeWeasel
Tealitup and partner, lets hook up with Boilerguy when the snows come in, he gave me info. on hotel/motel, etc.
Eric Wettschreck
There are a few other fellas that have talked about coming down my way if the geese show up. Jblabsnduck and a few other guys. Maybe we can have our first annual,"FM Southwest Minnesota Spring Snow Slaughter and Corn Feed/Beerfest." My thoughts are the FM sponsors can provide shells and decoys. bucks-n-ducks
Hey guys, I would be all for a snow goose hunt.....I don't have any shells, but do have 12 magnum candian shells I could bring if that would help. Otherthen then that, I could bring some beer....sounds like that would be better then decoys anyways
Sartell Angler
If this event does in fact happen, put Flowage Tamer and me down for a case of beer. Who has snow dekes? Certainly not us-- I've never even seen a flock of confirmed snow geese!SA/wdw
Eric Wettschreck
Like I said fellas, if and when the snows show up I'll definately be posting it on the board. If yous wannna come shoot them, come on out. There are plenty for everyone. There's a motel about 5 miles from here. If you're bringing beer, my fish house will sleep a couple guys and I have room on the living room floor. If you're bringing good, high quality, super tastey beer (PBR) I have a fold out couch and a spare bedroom.
Sartell Angler
you rock Boilerguy! Might have to hold you to this for a night this year. What would you consider to be "good, high quality, super-tasty beer?" Because I usually opt for Miller Lite, or whatever is on sale at the liquor store, or whatever the person buying it for me wants if we happen to be splitting it (I'm only 20). Eric Wettschreck
I would never contribute to underage drinking.Having said that (more for a legal disclaimer than anything else), when you are one year older I highly recommend Pabst Blue Ribbon as a good, high quality, super tastey beer. Miller Lite is colored water. And yes, drinking PBR I can taste my beer.
simcox282
I would like t oget in on this snowgoose stuff. I have access to a lot snow geese decoys and if I am lucky and the weather is good I might have stuffers that we could use.( a friends) IF worse comes to worse I can go out and buy texASS rags and some others. If anybody wanted to make some decoys I have the molds and the set-up to do so. Just not the time right now.

Sartell Angler
boy this is really building up to a big event! Now all we need is snow geese in MN...maybe we'll get lucky and some bad weather in SD will push a mess of 'em into the neck of the woods we'll be hunting in.I never really thought decoy hunting would be an option since I have 0 snow dekes and I figured that anyone I would meet up with in MN who has snow dekes would drive the extra coupla hours into SD. The chance to decoy them would be fantastic, but I would settle for any type of hunting in order to bag my first snow goose!SA/wdw
mr wizard
This sounds like great way to hunt snows, 20 guys with 2000 decoys and e-callers might be the way to go rather than having small groups spread miles apart. Boilerguy, do you think if everyone thru in 10-20 bucks it might smooth over the farmers for such a hunt? 20 guys , 10-15 trucks, four-wheelers and such could have an impact on a muddy field. I have 50 paper snows, 75 canadians shells, converting to snow, with stakes, 8 magnum shells, 100 rags, 12 snow shells, 10 magnum snow floaters, 12 canadian floaters, 24 canadian silo's, 2 robo ducks, flags and some flyers both snow and canadian. This could be the snow goose equivilant to the Ice series! Trophies and prizes. All we need is the sponsors. Oh and someone to organize it. Keep the beer in the case till the gun is in the case.
