Your Thoughts on T-Wolves

I think that last year Sam and Spree had a fluke season. Yah, they are good players and have shown so in the past but I think we all know they both played past their ability last year. They are getting old and I think if we can dump them to gain some youth, speed, defense... do it. This team is sick and is in need of something to cure them. Pretty sickening when the lower rung teams are toying with them. Not fun to watch. Watch the gophs instead, at least these guys have some heart.(not talking about KG)

That Joe Smith incident is still hurting us, not being able to get a first round pick in 6 years, that's why we are an old team. I don't think Sprewell and Cassell had fluke seasons for sure, but their age is starting to show that's for sure. T-wolves picked to win the title at the beginning of the year and we won't even make the playoffs. Pretty sad, this should have been our year with the Lakers in the tank.

The season is over.

A trade should have been made 2 months ago when the two of them started complaining. I knew then the season was a wash.

Problem now is, no one wants these guys, even if it is to clear cap room. And those who will take them are willing to give nothing in return.

They need to chalk this season up as a loss, use the cap room that will come off with Spree, Candy@ss and Cassel to sign a big name player and hope to get a high pick in the lottery.

They could still, by some miracle, get into the playoffs, but it will be one and done.

The ONLY thing that could save this season if for them to trade tose guys away for an impact player, preferably a center or another forward. But that is doubtful.

I agree Tom. What a disappointment and man does it get sickening listening to all the bickering that goes on on that team. These guys could not make a penny for the rest of their lives and they would still have enough money to live 10 lives, yet they all complain about their contracts.

To tell you the truth with all the thugs, greedy players and such, the NBA has turned me off to the point of not caring too much.

This is the worst team defensively I've ever seen. Defense wins championships so the T-Wolves are screwed. Cassell has to go - nothing but a no-defense, crybaby, shot happy Alien. I don't care if they don't get anything back in return - hopefully they could land a draft pick high enough to get a decect PG or Center in the draft. At least Spree plays some D.

We need a true point guard and a true center, we get killed in the paint and Cassel and especiallt T-Hud have been real dissapointing. You are right about Spree's and Cassell's trade value being cr@p, but it might be time to bite the bullet and make some sort of move while we still have a chance at the 8th spot. Last year we were one of the better defensive teams in the NBA and now this? What happened. Lack of effort? Who knows, I do think Sprewell is a cancer to the team and needs to go bye-bye.

Anyone can be moved, we just will probably eat the rest of his salary for this year and probably get nothing more than a bench player and a low lottery pick, maybe wrap candy@ss and T-Hud together in the package and maybe get a postion player, who knows, this season is probably a bust. I am very dissapointed as I had high hopes. Being a sports fan in Minnesota is depressing, we always get built up with excitement just in time for the ultimate let-down.

well they won last night, by i think 6, even though it looked like we were gonna walk all over those nuggets early when we were up by like 20.

i don't think the season is over, i'd like to see them make a trade for a young srappy point gaurd, just someone else giving us some energy out there besides KG and wally once in a while. i wonder how much they miss mad dogs energy?

i think we'll get into the playoffs and if we get on a hot stretch down the run, you never know what might happen

Did anyone hear Flip rip on Cassel last night? They played it on KFAN over lunch today. Something along the lines of making up injuries depending on who he plays. He just called him out on air. Good for Flip. I would hate to see Flip leave because of Spree and Cassel refuse to give effort. Spree had 5 pts last night and makes 14 million. What a joke. Well at least we have the MN Wild, er...I mean... blush.gif

They (Spree/Cassell) are 2 guys in denial that their skills are diminishing. They don't have the energy and their egos will determine how well they play. Both still think they can command the millions they are getting still. Sure they might play well next season for a different team, but that will all be smoke/mirrors. I say start trading and get draft picks or bit players that will put out effort like Thomas and Griffin. Maybe Flip should put them further down the depth chart and go with other bench players and see what happens. Can't hurt and nothing to lose. McHale should have done something with Spree as soon as he started crying about his contract. We could've gotten something and not have to deal with his attitude. But in McHale fashion he missed another window of opportunity.

Where do I begin? Sure some of the losses we experienced this year were due to bad timing. We have met some hot teams at the wrong times. But why the hell are we still starting Spree. What a clown. I don't care who he is or what he gets paid. We are not that athletic of a team but Flip should sit him or reduce his PT! He always was a streaky scorer and I accept that. What I don't accept is his lack of hustle and energy on both ends of the floor. I thought MadDogs jumper was ugly these days it would be comforting to watch him shoot the rock rather than Spree. You can tell when his shot isn't going in it ain't even close. Last year the pick and roll between KG and Cassell was unstoppable. Either Cassell would pull up and drain it from 15 ft or KG would roll and finish it off. That was what got us where we were last year. Whether or not Cassell is bagging it or not the man is getting old and it shows. He may have one good year left in him but not with us. Wally got some negative press a year or two ago and was talked of being traded but now he makes Spree look like a chump. That kid hustles and plays hard. Sure he isn't the best defensively and doesn't have the quickest step but he is showing a lot of heart and determination each night rooting on his team and hustling. I hate to write off the season just yet. If they get on a roll in March and April and are healthy and make the playoffs they can still do some damage. If not that team needs some major revamping. Big Irv is 8 years past his prime get rid of him, Big John why do MN teams always give these guys a shot, T. Hud is a loose cannon...gone. Just be glad we didn't lock contracts with Cassell and Spree we would be sunk the next few years. I'm done venting. tongue.gif

The reason Flip is starting Spree is because what's worse? Spre being inconsistant or Spree being a cancer? If Flip sat him, can you just imagine what kind of crud he'd start? Flip might just find out how PJ felt a few years back.

I say trade Spree, Sam and Thud and just take what you can get no matter what it is. Heck, I'd even take 1 second round pick for the lot of them right now.

KG deserves better than this.

Maybe we could pick up that Minnesota HS basketball player that set the record with 90 points in a game. grin.gif I have always wondered how they could get an explosive player like Mike Finley or Eddie Jones. The Wolves could use another player who can fly and bring some energy to the court. Can Spree even dunk anymore?
