Webb Lake St. Patty's Day parade

Recommended Posts

Can anyone confirm the date for the St. Patrick's Day parade in Webb Lake? Usually it's the weekend before St Pat's but I heard rumor their holding it the weekend after this year.

Always a great time, been there 5 years straight and running. Great all around family fun if you're ever looking for something to do that time of year.

Interesting. Seems a conflict of calendars. I'll have to call the Main Store I suppose. When I go to the web site I listed above I see this:

March 2005

19 - St. Patrick’s Day Parades in Siren - 349-5755, Webb Lake - 259-3329 , Yellow Lake - 866-7107 for times and locations

I'm going up there for the Webb Lake mens club ice fishing contest this weekend. I'll bet I can find someone that will know for sure.

The contest is Saturday...I think it runs from 10 til 2.

And it isn't a fish in the predrilled holes thing, which I like. even tho we don't get very serious about the fishing.

weigh in is infront of the Oak Ridge.

Where are you guys getting your info? I just called the Main Store to confirm again that the parade is being held on March 19th. I've also found this same date on the county event web site, as well as got confirmation from a friend who lives at Voyageur Village. It's the 19th in Webb Lake.

Yeah, it is the 19th. I was in the Cabaret this weekend and the sign inside said the 19th. Always a good time.

It is the 19th talked to one of the folks that organize it.

It seems there were some flyers sent out that were incorrect.

As well as th Burrnett county resort accoc. calender.

it is always a good time

I kinda wish I hadn't found out about the date, it would have been a good excusse to go up twice

Heading up this Friday meeting up with my 2 brothers and their families along with my mom. All staying in our cabin on Fish Lake. Don't know who's looking forward to it more: my kids looking forward to playing with all the cousins and getting all the candy at the parade, or the adults looking forward to seeing everyone again. Everyone's a winner I guess.

I was telling people in the metro about the Webb Lake parade and how some of the floats hand out beers to the parade watchers. Only in Wisconsin is right..

I was talking to the general store owner and I guess a few things have changed this year. One of them being that the floats are not allowed to hand out beer. But...you can still bring your own and drink on the street all day!

Just like you said, sure to be a great time!

There's hardly any left, only a few of the shaded drifts so you shouldn't have any problem.

Another great time at the parade last weekend. Seems to me the parade is getting smaller every year, but more people continue to attend. Ended up getting Bamboozled after the parade at Bamboozles. Great band they had down there.

    • Treadmill and a few dumbells.   I'll be walking outside in decent weather.  Luckily the houses are spread out enough that I can maintain "social distancing".   I never used to see many people while walking in the neighborhood so we'll see if that has changed.      I've also got some deferred yard work to do if things ever dry out.
    • Oh, one other anecdote.    I have had my phone not talk to the bluetooth in my toyota.    Rebooted the phone and it started working again, for what that is worth.
    • I have a 2005 Arctic Cat 400 4wd. Mine is sometimes difficult to switch from Forward to Reverse or vise versa. Also when I go out across the yard and shift into 2nd or 3rd gear the shifter sticks. I doesn't release allowing it to shift into a higher gear basically putting it into neutral. Any thoughts on causes?
    • Could really use a good wilderness story right now. Start at the beginning.  "we drove north out of the cities" 😄    I'll hangup and listen. 👍
    • Great to see you back @Jeremy airjer W
    • You didn't let it run long enough. At some point you should have felt the radiator get warm and the Fan clutch start engaging the fan a lot more. You want it to run with the thermostat open and occasionally raise the RPM to help push out any air in the system. Sounds like you where using a spill free funnel, Perfect! I just replaced mine last spring and I used a little more than 2.5 gallons after it was all burped. If the thermostat was stuck shut the temp would just keep climbing.   If the thermostat was stuck open you would not have had any interior heat.
    • ok after letting everything cool down for a couple hours it has now completely drained from the funnel enough for me to get the radiator cap back on. Going to let it sit over night and see if anything drips or leaks just to make sure I got the hoses and clamps back on good. Once I know I am good there I will take it for a drive tomorrow and get it under load and try to some burp more air out of it if I can. really hoping its just a big air bubble in there and I can get the appropriate amount of coolant added.
    • Amazing timing this one!!! The Timberwolf.....I know it seems off...but not really.   Well done @PartyWhine
    • Rainy day project today, was to replace the radiator in my 2008 Tundra with the 5.7 with 130k miles. Everything went well and didn't take too long. I used the OEM replacement right from the stealership. Got everything back together and started to slowly add coolant. It takes roughly 10-11 liters or just under 3 gallons. I was only able to add about 1.5 gallons before it got full. So I started truck up, squeezed top hose for bubbles and got some out but level never dropped. Let it run for 15 mins with heat on. I saw temp gauge on dash climb up to just below midway. Top hose felt warm to touch as I squeezed it but level never dropped enough to add anymore coolant. So my question is does anyone know if OEM radiators come with an plastic plugs or anything that should be removed prior to install? I didn't even look, I just installed and hooked up each hose. I am wonder if there could me some sort of plastic plugs in the inlet or outlet that I should have removed first prior to install? The lower hose of my radiator that goes from the bottom of the radiator up to the thermostat never got warm after running for that long. Its either plugged radiator or bad thermostat? Would just be really big coincidence to have thermostat go bad when I wasn't having any issues with it prior. And water pump was replaced at the dealer at 85k or so due to a leak so I don't suspect that is an issue either. I have since let motor cool and saw some drop in the funnel but nothing significant. Any ideas what to do next?
    • Thanks for reminding folks.
