fishinphilth
Has anyone tried the rope lights that run off a vex battery? I think they are made by Clam. Just wondering how well they work and if they are worth buying.
ice_shack
Enough light to see your beer (or bev of choice) but not enough to tie on a small jig. At least for my tired eyes.
Jeremy airjer W
I would invest a couple more dollars and get a LED headlamp. Mine runs on 3 AAA batteries. Its on its second year with the same batteries. Three different levels of light and the light is always pointed where you are looking. On the other hand for $16 ( for the clear ) can you really go wrong if your looking for general lighting?? Deitz Dittrich
one of the sight sponsors makes a 12 volt light system... 12 Volt system... The Fish bright Lantern attachments really work well for adding light to your lantern as well... I also have tried the colman tent light. Its a light with a magnet on it that I have found very usefull for putting near my holes when fishing after dark!
Ryan Berger
I would just go with the Fish Bright Lantern reflector. It puts a tremendous amount of light right where ya need it most.
jigstick44
I use some topper/interiors light I bought at Fleet farm for under $6 a piece. I run them off of a Vex battery and each light has it's own switch so you don't have to use them both at once. I loosly zip tied them to my portable's tubing so they won't get broken during set up and tear down. They work great!
bigminnow
I bought the rope lights, they are the non LED variety.... Don't waste your money on them. They put out minimal light. The cost $15 bucks and the first use 1/4 burnt out. I then went toe Fleet and Farm and picked up a 12 volt trouble light for $6.99 works great attach it to your gel cell and your set.Bigminnow
Northlander
If you run a lantern a FishBright is a must. Check them out at www.soderbloom.com
nitroant
I use the 12 volt mentioned on this thread. Its a great light and comes with all the stuff you need. It wears down a vexilar battery in an hour but it works fine off the truck battery. I use my lantern for early ice and the 12 volt after I can drive out, its great. I also have a 12 volt light with a magnet on it that I set up before dark so I can plug it in before I start to tear down for the night, makes it alot easier and works great for fishing outside on nice nights. I recommend the 12 volt lights, well worth the money

fleeced
IMHO nothing beats a LED headlamp. Always on your head, never needs to be recharged, bright light where you are looking, can't be knocked over, last many hours on a set of fresh batteries, only weighs a few ounces, fits in your pocket and can be used year round for outdoor activities.
