If you are thinking of something like Amsoil, I just mixed some for my Jiffy last night. I drilled over 50 holes yesterday and the auger was running great. I would reccomend doing it saves alot of hassel looking between gas cans ect..

I bought some at Fleet Farm for my Strikemaster. In the past I had used the Strikemaster oil. I think my auger is running better now than it ever has. Although it is not completely smokeless, it does smoke less than with the Strikemaster oil. I would recommend giving it a try.

The stuff I bought is called Tall Timber and is sold at Fleet Farm by the chain saws.It reads that its formulated for use in all air-cooled 2-cycle engines: chain saws, lawn mowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers snow throwers premix snowmobiles plus many others. I think it's about the same as the Amsoil. It is made here in St. Paul by North coast oil, inc.GOA Company

There are 4 different kinds of Amsoil 2 cycle oil. Go to the Amsoil dot com HSOforum and look under products. There will be a guide for the proper product for you application right from the manufacture. I am a dealer so if you would price info post your e-mail here and I get back to you.

Hookmaster -

I bought the same oil as Lights. It's called Tall Timber and comes in a 2.6 oz bottle. The instructions say to "Fill container one-half full with gas - add oil and mix. Add remaining amount of gasoline - mix again."

The bottle says it "Replaces all mix ratios including: 50:1, 40:1, 32:1, 24:1, 16:1. So far I have been very pleased. I think the bottle cost $0.79. Give it a try. Good luck.

Earlier this year I asked Amsoil which product to use for my auger and how to mix. Here is their reply:

From:AMSOIL Technical Services

Thank youfor contacting AMSOIL with your concerns.

Inresponse to your inquiry, the suggested product is AMSOIL Saber ProfessionalSynthetic 100:1 Pre-Mix 2 Cycle Oil (ATP). The 100:1 ratio (1.5 ounces pergallon) should be used regardless of the OEM recommendations, as this is ahighly concentrated product.

Thank youagain for the opportunity to respond to your concerns. As always, please feelfree to contact us again if we can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Jim Van

I switched last year to a product called Opti 2 which is a synthetic with a stabilizer in it and its mixture is also 100-1 .I can't say enough good about it and highly recommend it .All my rigging sure runs smooooooooth on it .Awesome product and similar to amsoil but I believe superior because it has stabilizer in it .

I have a new Strikemaster Lazer Mag Xpress and have noticed oil coming from the muffler. I called Stikemaster and talked with a service tech. He said that this is normal in a new auger and that the 24:1 mix is pretty rich. He suggested backing off the oil mixture next year to 50:1. I am wondering if the Amsoil mixture would burn clearner and eliminate this problem.
