Kylersk
And they turn out rather goofy looking. Finally added a picture to my Avitar. Hopefully, as the season progresses, I can get a larger fish involved.

msm1018
I would have to agree, taking a picture of yourself by yourself is difficultand I have no clue why I cannot see the avatars from anyone, but I can when I'm not logged on??
hanson
Kylersk-Its all progression. I've followed a number of your posts and questions for awhile now. I'm glad your starting to put the pieces together. Pretty soon, you'll be teaching others how to ice fish. We've got a long winter ahead of us I hope.Good luck to you.By the way, the picture is pretty good!

JollyT
Go into My Home at the top of the forum, then to Dispaly perferences, towards the bottom click to show pictures. This will show avatars and such. It's turned off by default for those poor people with slow connections.
rap
lol... yeah, i have quite a few pictures like yours, arm outstretched with an akward smirk on my face trying to adjust the camera and hold a fish. I did get a camera stand for christmas and really like having that along.. actually used it on my pic on my avitar <-----
Dennis Steele
I keep a tripod handy, just in case.....They realy don't take up too much room. No more than your support poles. I think I paid like 20 bucks at K-Mart or Wal-Mart, some kind of 'mart anyway. One tip though. At close range make sure when you push the timer button that you have the camera focused on something where you will be sitting. On my camera it focuses when you push the timer and not when it snaps the pic. Call me fuzy face.
andy j
I have gotten good and most importantly quick with taking pictures when I am alone. I good digital camara is the trick. It has a easy to use 10 sec. timer. Before hand test a few camara mounting options in you boat of fishing shelter. on a seat or whatever, so when it come time when You have a fish out of the water you know what you are going to do. My avatar I took when I was by myself.
GoodToGo
i have a mini-tripod (Ultrapod?) that I got at REI about 10 years ago. It is plastic, each leg is about 4 inches long, and has a velcro strap on one leg. It can be placed on a flat surface or velcroed to a tree branch or railing. Very handy for using timers (now I use the remote that came with digital camera). It is small enough to always bring with on trips.
Bob_D
I keep a tripod in my sled. I fish alone a lot so a lot of my pictures on my site are taken that way. It's not as good as having someone else take it, but it works in a pinch.
