Northlander
Well I finally got to test out my new 8" Nilsmaster Auger. I started out using the hand auger atatchment and once I got the hang of the way to correctly use the handle it was like a hot knife threw butter! No pushing on it at all. Fastest hand auger Ive ever used and I have used them all. Yesterday I put the powerhead on and ran it threw some ice. I got threw 16" of ice in no time. Best part was it was effortless, the blades just sucked their way right down with absolutely no effort on my part. I was so fired up I must have drilled 30 holes just to try it out. What can I say. Light, SUPER FAST and starts easy. Without a doubt its the best auger I have ever seen used. I recomend these augers to anyone who wants a serious Ice Auger. A bit more $ but well worth it in my opinion.

Lost
Looks great! But it doesn't say you can order it from there. Are they available in any local stores? How would I get just the blade without the power head?
Northlander
You cant get just a blade assembly because its a solid piece of the auger assembly and wont fit on any other augers. Check the HSOforum Paul listed above and they are for sale there. I think Cabelas may be selling them under a Cabelas name. Checked and Cabelas is selling just the hand auger and calling it the High Velocity hand auger. $79-$99. Go to: Nils Master Augers Discount Sales - CLICK HERE Price includes Tanaka power head with 3 times the rated service life of Strikemaster, Jiffy or Eskimo powerheads, the auger and the hand auger attachment as well. buzbunni
I've been waiting for your report Northlander ; thanks for following up. The way the boys out east have been talkin' these up, I've been sold on them for my next power auger purchase. I bought the 6" Nils hand auger at Cabela's, and I couldn't be more pleased. "Like a hot knife thru butter"...says it all. I do not have experience with many other products, but the Nils cuts faster and easier than my 5.5" Mora. I will be purchasing the Nilsmaster Powerauger next year(and hey! I will be able to attach my 6" unit to the powerhead if I so desire. How great is that?!). Bob_D
Cabelas is probably sold outfor a little while. These things are selling like hot cakes now that people have started to see them in action. I think Mills Fleet Farm MAY have them, Fish307.com , and spectacularsports.com may as well. Redlantern
How easy is it to get replacement blades? I'm interested in the six inch auger but am reluctant to buy it if I can't find the blades easily.
Bob_D
I guess it really depends on how you want to get the blades. If you don't mind making a call, you can always get them through Nils Master or there are some other online sources. If you want them locally, it really depends on where you are located and if your local shop decides to carry the product.
