jbuck
anybody have any comments on the aqua-vu scout? thinking of buying one, or the zt model? thanks
SCHAAKATTACK
I bought one.I believe you first need to realize it will be more of an entry level model. Not that that is bad. My reasoning for buying this one is that I have no experience with one so the price was right(new piece w/ warranty) I want to get my boy out for a longer time( so entertainment for him if he can see fish swim by that's a +) and to learn where I am at. I am not sure why they picked blue& yellow but hopefully the fish won't care. By taking out of the box and just messing with it in the house and bath tub(filled tub &Threw some toys in there and checked them out) I believe it will do a fine job. Very good picture quality. Everything is included(charger downviewing connection, video, etc..) I think the bluegill alone is cool just to look at(very nice finish) I am no expert at these but it will seve the purpose. Sometime down the road I will most likely upgrade to a newer model but not till I feel I have to have the extra bells & whistles. I am hoping to actually try it out ASAP. Sportland_Bait
I have run the ZT and like all Aqua Vu models if performs flawlessly. I have used various cameras since Aqua Vu came out with their first ones and I can't complain. You will be very happy with either choice. They are all very user friendly.Jason Erlandson
Matt Breuer
I have had a Z Series, XPS, and the new Scout and love them all. Last night fishing with the woman, she told me she liked the new Scout and wants to use that rather than a vex from now on. They are all great and get the job done! Deitz Dittrich
The Scout is a great unit for the money.. it has the same camer and cable that Aqua vu uses on all thier cameras... It comes with 50 foot of cable and has the IR lights... For the $200 price point, its really a good buy!

Chad711
So the Z series camera, that was $300 last year, is the same basically as the Scout @$ 200, but the scout has that fish look camera. Shoulda waited once again..
walleyedan
jbuck,I have a number of different models and I believe which ever one you decide on, you will be impressed. I just recieved the new Quad that I will be using in my rental houses and I can't wait to put it to work. Customer service is the key in any business, and after working with the guys at Nature Vision, you can see why they are as successfull as they are.Walleyedanp.s. 15 below right now!! Deitz Dittrich
Chad711- I know what your saying about should have waited another year.. but if you think of it that way.. New stuff is comming out every year. If you played the should have waited till next year game.. You would never buy anything!
Ed Carlson
The new Scout is a nice camera package at a fair price. If your primary interest is to watch fish, this is a very good system.I prefer the Aqua View SV series. The SV offers temperature, and a compass plus lighting. In my view, the most useful tool on an underwater camera system outside of a clear picture is the compass feature. With the aid of a compass, you can orient yourself to structure and track the movement of schooling fish. Fine tuning location on structure becomes far easier with the compass feature too. These abilities are extremely beneficial on open water and under the ice.If your hunting schooling fish like walleye, perch, or crappie the compass will keep you on them or ahead of them. The SV will up your efficiency and your knowledge of the environment at the same time.
jbuck
well i bought the aqua-vu scout and had it out today, i loved it!it was very entertaining watching the sunnies come up to my jig. beats the heck out of watching a bobber all day well worth the money. i even had to northerns come in, very exciting they seemed more interested in the sunfish camera than my jig though i had one northern staring directly into my camera and opened his mouth i got a good view of his throat! i had to kinda grab my camera and hold on i wasnt sure if he was going to try to swallow it. it was a lot of fun watching that gets your heart pumping. thanks guys for the info

George
I bouught the scout also and used it on Saturday. Works great for what I need. Fished were not spooked by the camera. In fact I think the funnest thing was when a small northern thought he was gonna have my camera fo lunch!

eurolarva
I have been trying to locate a Scout now since christmas and everyone is sold out. I talked to a guy at capras who said more are coming in today and it did not happen. Anybody know any place around the cities that still have any of these on their shelves? The Chemist
Euro: I found one yesterday, and am still trying to decide if that's what I really want. Last one on the shelf. Am starting to waiver on a different model still
eurolarva
I found one at the gander mountain in Forest Lake. Man what a cool store. Kind of compares target to super target. I took it out fishing this morning and what a blast. I watched one walleye and a bass swim by. I watched at least 10 crappies sniff the minnow then leave and watched a bunch of bluegills attack the eurolarva on the hook. What a cool toy. The sunfish camera seems to have no effect on the fish. This should improve my fishing skills. Watching the fish react to different presentations.
