BarryG
I am starting to get ready for my trip up north. What is the most used line size for ice fishing? Thanks!
Pete Riola
I'd go with a copolymer like P-line or Seaguar. these lines are tough and very abrasion resistant.
Beaver15
Trilene Micro Ice. 6 lb. test for eyes.
BarryG
I was thinking about 6lb Fireline. Does that work good for hardwater? This is my first try at ice fishing!
Bob Horn
Fireline adsorbs water and your line will freeze up. If your inside your ok. I have to second Petes recommendation.
76k20
I spooled a couple of my rods with powerpro ice 8#/1#diameter and am anxious to get out to try it
Deitz Dittrich
I really like P-line as well and use the Folorice or Floroclear(same line different package)
Dan Wood
I use 2 and 4 lb. Trilene XL or similar on most of my ice rods. I use the ice braids from fireline in the 6 lb. range also. I'm not a huge fan of braids for ice fishing, they just don't seem to come of the tiny spools as well. I do use it though when targeting bigger fish, rather than going to a much higher diameter in mono.
