I saw on the number 5 that a 27-point buck was taken. I'm sure that's what CCO had also. That's all I know about it though.

that's a keeper wink.gif, 89Bronco, i see you hunt in Buhl. i also hunt in Buhl. how'd you do this year? our group, 7 hunters, got 6 deer opening weekend. 4 bucks 2 does.( i got one of the does) nothing very big as far as the bucks go. a 7 pointer was the biggest. i did however see a really big buck opening morning, 8-10 pts. not enough time to get a shot off. going back this saturday for one more chance.

Where about do you hunt near Buhl, Bruledrifter? We are just north of the McNiven road on 25. Our family owns land south of 169 past the cemetary, also. My brother got a spike on Saturday. I saw a spike, fork and a six on opening day---but passed. It almost paid off as I saw a huge buck on Sunday. It was just a little too far through all the brush for a good shot. I tried calling, but he had his mind made up on where he was going. My dad has seen a couple of different six-pointers, too, but no shot. All three of us hunt with pistols, so we're pretty careful about what kind of shot we take. What's kind of odd is that all three of us have only seen bucks. No does at all.

89,i hunt just south of 169 off morse rd. my friend parents own a cattle ranch and own some land. he also knows a lot of the surrounding land owners who give us permission, as well as a few chunks of state land we hunt too. this is only the 2nd year ive hunted there, but im planning on making a tradition out of it. is it just me, or does it seem like all the bucks in that area have really weird looking antler growth. of all the bucks ive seen taken, all of them have rounded off points, flat spoon type shapes to them, and are very dark colored. also the chest hair on the deer seems to be very dark too. im sure its because they live on da' range. goin back on saturday for one last chance. havent had a whole lot of time to hunt this fall. gotta make the most of it.
