Neiko
I have never ML before and am looking to get something cheap (under $200) for the begining. I was wondering what people think of the starter kits they sell. I was looking atCVA KodiakThompson/Center Black DiamondKnight Camo American ?Is a 45 good enough for bear or should I go with the 50? Any help would be appreciated.
irvingdog
That CVA Kodiak is as nice for the dollar as it gets.I'd go 50 cal for bear, but a well constructed bullet, at close range is pretty effective.
bigbucks
I know this has been talked about a lot before. I've been very happy with my .50 caliber Rossi, which I see Fleet has on sale for $149 through this Saturday I believe. The rest of the supplies, bullets, powder, cleaning, equip, etc. will probably cost you $30-50.
Norsk Fisker
I have a CVA 209 bolt in .45 cal. It shoots great. I would go with the .50 if I did it over because of the bullet and powder selection and availability. I saw the CVA hunter bolt at Cabela's for about $100. $200 would get you a rifle, shooting supplies and accesories.
