Stolen Trail Cams?

Recommended Posts

How many of you put your cams on public land? And how many of you have had one stolen? I just bought one ( a cheap stealth cam from wallmart) and wanted to put it on public land only prob is i am worried about getting it stolen. How should i go about finding an area to put it so nobody sees it?

Thanks for any help.

If you make a sign with big block letters that reads

This film property of XXXX XXXX. If film was dropped off and delivered for anyone else. please cal XXX-XXX-XXXX, and take a picture of this sign with the first frame. I've heard it has paid off more than once.

Hey Guys

I think that dogs idea is great, some cams have the security code option might be a good idea too.

I have cams out on both privite and public land, I try to keep them moving...install on Sun night pull on Fri afternoon.. never leave in the same spot for more than a week.

I also try to conceal them the best I can...ie camo

But no matter how hard you try I accept the fact that one day or another I'll loose one to a thief. smirk.gif

Practical- Camo/Conceal it

Malicious/Illegal- Find a live grenade, auger out the tree where the camera will be placed. Insert grenade into secret bored out compartment, set camera in place, and pull pin. Will also make a solution to problem camera destroying bears.

Warning- Remember to replace pin before unstrapping camera from tree.
