"Chug points"

Did you know that drivers get paid every time they take a drink off a bottle during an interview ?? They are called "Chug points".
Jimmy Johnson (a Pepsi driver) was fined $10,000 for blocking the Power aid bottle (a coke product) that sat ontop his car in winners circle at Pocono.
Pretty sad !!

Those guys get paid enough money it probably does not hurt them. Jimmy either knew he was drinking the wrong bottle and forgot or he didn't care. But it is amazing how much those sponsors pay these guys just to "chug".

They get paid in addition to whatever the soft drink company has already paid in sponsorship fee's??? Wow!!! Not too surprising though I guess.

They get done running a 500 mile race, they reach for a coke over a nice bottle of gatorade, what would you take if you were getting paid for that coke?

Actually the money of winner of the so-called "chug points" go towards a charity of the driver who gets the most points. Pretty ingenious on part of the soft drink companies.

I always laughed when Gordon practically threw his Pepsi down his driving suit to get it on camera after an interview years ago. Now everyone is doing it. Glad to see the sponsors are putting it towards charity instead of a shameless plug by the drivers.
