I have this Montgomery Ward (Chrysler) 7.4hp outboard, short shaft, forward+reverse, for sale.
It runs good, but it needs a plastic gear on pull start (probably $ 20, very easy to fix) to engage motor.
I started it with a rope directly on flywheel, and it started right away, and ran good.

$ 175.00

Located near Faribault, MN. 25 miles south of MPLS, email [email protected] for pics.

Valv,

How are you fixed for used trailers? Got a 16ft deck boat sitting on a 12ft fishing boat trailer. Not exactly road worthy! Looking for something I could fix up as I don't mind spending some elbow grease as she got the $ and I got the kids and the debt.

Not doing too good on trailers, I only have a late Karavan, galvanized w. brakes and rollers for a 16ft/18ft, 2,600lbs, and another Karavan white, w. brakes, bunks, rated 3,500lbs, for 18ft to 20ft boat

Val, as I see your in the forum right now, do you have a 9.9 - 20hp short shaft around there ? Older is fine just so it runs. I have a 1994 5hp Mariner 24"shaft that really isnt cutting it for pushing around the little 14' mirrocraft I have. Want to upsize. Thanks Dan (trade?)

Valv, Would you have a electric tilt that would work on a 1984 Johnson 40hp. larg shaft? The motor I have is a tiller and the position is all the way up or all the way down. If you don't have one would you know where I might be able to find one for a reasonable price? used will work fine.

Basser, I don't have anything in that range right now.

Willowcat, only add on plate I have right now is on a 100hp, it might be too big for it, plus you'll have to buy both, I usually do get them here and there, if you are not in a hurry, I'll keep you in mind.

Still have this motor? If not, do you have any others between 6.0 and 9.9 hp? My buddy's looking for one for his 1963 12' Sea King aluminum boat. He wants to preserve the 1932 outboard he's been using.

Hey Lost.

I work with a guy who told me he wants to sell a 5 hp short shaft Merc with internal gas tank. I think it's a '98??? He wanted $450. Let me know if interested and I'll let you know how to get ahold of him (probably be next week as I'm leaving soon for the rest of the weekend).
