EXTREME COLD TEMPS OPENING MORNING

Just a heads up to everyone hitting the woods this coming Saturday.

Lows are expected to be around " 0 " or below in many areas... be sure to put on some extra layers, or break out the ice fishing clothes.. just dont break your neck trying to get in your tree stand.

For those who are hunting with kids please be sure they have plenty of layers on.

Good luck to everyone this rifle season, and most of all keep it safe.

I bring my Mr. Heater with me. In Wi. our regular deer hunt starts Nov. 22 this year. It's pretty cold by then. The heater makes some noise and if you get to close to it it'll put out a lot of scent from your clothing. I hunt out of a stand on private land, I refer to as "the fire tower". No windows but it has a built up floor,sides,roof, and a swivel bar stool. I can get away with not being as concerned about movement,smells, and noise. If I was on the ground or in a simple tree stand I dont think I would use a heater.

Speaking of ice fishing clothings, I was thinking about bringing the portable ice shelter for a blind along with the propane heater.

Has anyone have any experience with a "The Clam" as a blind?

Sheesh, this is living. It was zero on my thermometer when I got up at 6 a.m. Hardly even cold.

We were up around Grnd Rapids, and yes it was cold but I liked it way more than the last few warm seasons. Easier to know what you need to where, I was comfy, wind wasnt too bad. I liked the snow too, easy to track deer, drag deer, hear deer, see deer. Great weekend I thought.

I will be Using my Clam 1060 as Hunting Camp, Not as a Blind. The "Teepe" is duel Purupose.

I am hoping it will do the Job.

Saturday morning in Pengilly was -10 as well.
Sunday morning was around 18 above.
Monday was around 28 above.
This morning it was 36 above, only in Minnesota EH!!!
