Corey Bechtold
This suit will be a welcomed product from Clam. Even if it is not coast guard approved it will still give someone a better chance of getting out of the water/ice. Heck, I am most excited to use this suit in my boat! Lets be honest here. A live jacket is still the best product to save your life if something goes wrong. We still need to be smart no matter what we do. The lift suit will just help me feel more comfortable venturing out on the lake. Good fishing, Corey Bechtold
Northlander
Im very glad to see this suit come out. The more people on the ice with this type suit the better.
leech~~
Are any of the (stated) floating suits US coast guard approved?
Fred_Bear
None of the other popular floating suits are USCG approved to my knowledge. Just curious, but does the Lift Suit actually float the wearer if they fall in? Other popular brands (AA and Striker) either have literature or videos claiming the suit will float the wearer if they fall through the ice. The only claim I can find from Clam is the Lift Suit will "add buoyancy". I'm assuming this is simply for liability reasons and the suit will 100% float the wearer should they happen to fall in. I just want to hear from someone in the know if that is the case.
leech~~
Sounds like it maybe time to make a Youtube video like the other campanies have?
BartmanMN
There is a grainy picture on their HSOforum that shows someone that appears to be in water, but I agree. Time for Matt to suit up and jump in the lake or pool.
DTro
I find it kind of ironic/comical that when the Arctic Armor first came out 6 or 7 years ago, a lot of guys trying to protect the good name of the companies they represent or are sponsored by, wrote off the whole flotation thing as "unneeded, overpriced, a fad, and not practical" and went out of their way to try and bash AA. Now they are all scrambling to get their own version out there and convincing us that theirs is the best. Also its sad to think about past tragedies and think what if? Jim Kusuda
We all know that Jim Hudson may have been helped by a Lift Suit. I am proud to be associated with Ice Team, who believes in pushing for the production of a product which may be of value. I have felt the fabric of the Lift suit, and it is not stiff. Some of the other ice fishing flotation suits were not breathable also. I will wear mine when it makes sense to.

Time for Matt to suit up and jump in the lake or pool. here is the page from the catalog that has the picture you are talking about. once on the page click on the page to enlarge it so you get a better look at it. let's just say the guy in the picture is not a small guy(I have met him in person so I know this) and he is clearly floating. http://catalog.clamoutdoors.com/plog-con...-14_page_28.jpg

Glad the Blue Suits now have a option to keep all the "Smurfs" safer.
