Recent camping, Itaska State Park

Our first time to the park. We were there just this last weekend. The weather, and the fall colors could not have been better.

Itasca is a favorite of mine, I did get married there 35 years ago so that might be why! The Headwaters look like it is high! Nice colors in the trees as well. Thank you for the nice photos!

I do want to try out the camping cabins sometime, preferably during the winter. Did you camp or stay in lodging?

We pulled a tent trailer and camped.  LOTS of trees down from a storm back in July I believe.  I'm surprised the cabins weren't all crushed,

the late wife and I loved going there this time of the year, lots of times we had the park to our self's.

Perfect timing on your part. We were at our cabin about 20 miles from there and made a drive through the Paul Bunyan State Forest on Friday and colors were looking good and then we went back through again Monday morning, the 3rd, and the colors were even a bit better but by that noon the wind was knocking down a lot of the leaves. I read that by this past weekend that the combination of wind and rain was not kind to the trees.
