Carolina Reaper - hot Pepper

I was so excited I wanted to share with someone because my girlfriend doesn't care! I bought 60 Carolina reaper seeds (supposedly worlds hottest pepper) and i planted them at end of March.. Well today I finally saw first signs of life! 1 out of 60 isn't a good rate of germination but these hot peppers take FOREVER! A whole month to germinate.. When I thought all hope was lost.

bottom heat often helps.  Peppers like warm conditions.

I imagine you will get more. Actually one plant may be enough.   Dell is right about the bottom heat. I have a boiler in the shop and on top of that seems to be a good temp for germinating pepper seeds. My Habenero and Fatali seeds took about 2 weeks. Actually it took about the same amount of time for all my peppers.

Back when I was starting seeds, I had some of those heating cables made especially for that purpose.  I was short on boilers.... 

I see now they come as mats, like heating pads, which would probably work come to think of it.

Well if I happen to germinate anymore, anyone want one?  I'm from the Minneapolis south metro. I'm not sure I'm going to need THAT many reapers!

Nothing new has sprouted yet but I moved the seeds into a miniature greenhouse to keep the humidity up! I'll let ya know! Patience is a virtue.. That I may lack

I suppose I should have looked harder! I poked and prodded around in peat pellets and Roony and BobberinEyes are in luck! I actually found two germinated seeds, now let's hope I can keep them alive long enough to get them to you..
