Lunker
Got out today for 2 hours on a stretch of stream here in Vernon County WI. It was the earliest I've ever fished trout since this year is the first with the extended early season. Temps in the mid-high 30s, cloudy with a breeze. Would have been plenty comfortable except I quickly learned that my waders had sizable holes in both sides...which may have been the reason I only fished 2 hours. Overall it was a good short outing. Fish were active but lost/missed or just had follows a lot. Including the biggest fish of the day lost. Probably would have had a better landing rate had I been fishing a treble hook spinner type presentation but I stuck with a single hook bait. 11 browns 8 Brooks landed. Biggest brown about 14", biggest brookie was 13". reinhard1

JBMasterAngler
Yeah, with the ice fishing season getting tucked into it's death bed, I might have to hit up the streams in Wisconsin to fill the void. Unfortunately I have the same problems with my boots at this moment. reinhard1
reinhard1
I'm thinking of going to Grindstone on Saturday. 55 degrees on the forcast. No heater just the shelter so I can see them come by. Not over yet. good luck.
Lunker
Probably should have mentioned stream conditions since it was notable. Low, and clear. Probably the lowest I've seen it, which is crazy since we are in the "melt". reinhard1
