Mornin' (I think). Waiting for snowmageddon to arrive tomorrow just in time for my "anal" meeting since we seem to be stuck on that topic. Have decided that rather than grilling tomorrow in the rain, will grill the weenies this afternoon, put them in containers and warm them up ahead of the meeting in the roaster with sauerkraut to keep them moist. Will use the Weber as I can probably do them faster as well as give them more smoke while I'm at it.

Lambing season definitely needs to come to an end one of these days. Have been getting stuck with the majority of the main chores lately. Last night as I was finishing up I spied a lamb out in the lot one of the ewes had discreetly hidden so I didn't see it earlier. Mrs. Cheviot came home and immediately got all wound up about it culminating in her screaming at me because apparently I can no longer run and hurdle fences at the Olympic pace satisfactory to her way of thinking.

Of course the more wound up you get the more wound up the animals get so I was not amused. This resulted in her not speaking to me anymore than absolutely necessary. Hmmm...let's recap here: You come late to the dance, you yell and scream at me when chores are almost done a day after I spent much of my weekend trying to make your birthday a happy one. Got it. Nice to be appreciated. Oh well, like my little fat Swedish buddy carpenter always says, one of two things will happen. They'll either stay mad or they'll get over it. Their choice.

at least you got a little rest last nite..................no pawin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

my wife is 51, been with her 20 plus years.  I'm a saint or have been for about 5 years.

my daughter started having her female thing about 2 years ago.  One morning my wife came down stairs furious.  My wife said, "she's being such a little biiiiiittttchhh she's having her period.  I can't stand this!"

I didn't have any words...I said zippo.  I've been through it 200 plus times and have never brought it up, never ever.  How in the world could the wife had spied such an obvious hormone issue in someone else but never herself.

I'm a saint.

Got a nap in and woke up to the wife telling me the main drain in the ceiling is dripping in the basement, had her take a video of it so I could plan what I needed to put a temp patch on it. while she is making the video she pokes her thumb threw the hole making it that much bigger. She is down getting what I need, Not the way I wanted to wake up today, did I mention that I am having the place apprised in just a few days !

Good afternoon. Looking forward to the next couple days, so my lilac buds, early shoots, and Iris can get frozen and ruined.

They need a "don't like" button for that one. :(

Good thing I got the weenies grilled ahead for tomorrow's meeting this afternoon. 80 weenies grilled, bagged and refrigerated in under 45 minutes. A new personal best, considering I hadn't done that before of course.

Me thinks that snow will not hurt the buds or the iris or the daffodils. Might hurt my back though, and it will take a while to dry things out again. Rather have it now than April.....or May. Looks like Dotch will get more than me.

Oh goody. Can't wait. Looks like del and Reb might be vying for top honors. Now that the ground is completely thawed I'm sure I can rip the snot out of the yard with the tractor. That 18 degree low for Thursday doesn't turn my crank.

Oh we got kraut too Reb. Can't have weenies w/o that! Plus some katchup, mustard and relish while we're at it to make it regular health food.:D

I think the snows going to be great.  Covers the dog dew for a couple days and I can watch from afar as all of you Moderator types are out shoveling the rest of us can cause all sorts of trouble on here.  16 inches in Rochester would be a nice way to fill up the aquifer and build up those back muscles for you guys. :)

Go up and see LL, bobber. I hear he's got all kinds of tires, since he couldn't make up his mind on what to put on his truck. I'm sure he'd let ya have a few quad sets. ;)  I haveta go pull my stuffed pig chops off the grill so I can pair them up with my large bowl of pickled beets and green tops. No chance to grill in the avalanche tomorrow..

looks like the Union MNDOT drivers will only be working a couple hours overtime in the St Cloud area with zero snow coming...not on time, not on budget, and it's hard not to be safe sitting in the coffee shop :)

    • Sorry to hear that Duff. Will give my GSP's an extra scratch behind the ear for you guys today
    • Aw, man, sorry to hear that.  Shed some tears and remember her well.  They all take a piece of our hearts with them; some more than others.
    • yes sorry for your loss..  our dogs are always special...
    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
