Good Morning!

Recommended Posts

Good morning!  Up and at em this morning and heading up to Grindstone for one last time.  The ice here in the cities looks pretty black.  Could be a very early ice out this year with the ice not being as thick as normal.  Buddy told me that 2 days ago he still seen two trucks driving on Rush.  Boat landings are getting very rough so stay off the ice even with wheelers around the cities.  Going after rainbows and brown trout today.  Made a big pot of chili yesterday to come home to.  good luck.

I'm becoming a little callous about these lamb deaths after a month so I suspect 50 years compounds things.

Dream time...it's been a while but I had two quality dreams to interpret but the first one woke me up and of course I can't remember it.  The second one and it's a beauty...

My wife and I weren't married but were in that dating phase where she was probably at her peak of liking me.  We were in Arizona and had entered some dating reality type show.  I didn't care since I had her wrapped around my finger.  Doorbell rang and there was a guy at the door with dark brown curley hair, spandex black shorts and a tank top.  That was my competition.  We laughed at him and went outside to leave for wherever we were going.  He handed me the keys in some jerky way as though I was driving them on their date.  They got in the back of a trailer/coach that was hooked to what I was supposed to drive.  Guess what I was driving?  A Playmobile tyke car.  Yellow, red, blue, green with a plastic key to start it and it was the size for a 4 year old.  They laughed at me as I tried to get in and the dream ended.

I may drive my too big 3/4 ton pick up around this morning just to cleanse my mind a bit.  Have a good day.

Thank goodness that dream ended when it did LL.  You may have gotten a charlie horse in that car to say the least.  I had some wierd dreams last night buy can't remember them.  Bob the cat kept stepping on my head.  Wondered why.  Well this morning we see the new dog Buddy has been drinking her water and drained it.  Will check that tonight before we go to bed.  River still dark but not open.  Have to head out to work.  Will try to check in later.  Good luck fishing RH.

Nice Pike Jeff.  Keep em coming.

Up and at 'em. Chores done, straw unloaded, breakfast gobbled and working on some coffee. Game plan for today is to write until I get sick of it, take a break and give my little fat Swedish carpenter buddy some pointers on pruning his apple trees. Do the lamb check thing at noon then back at the writing game once my batteries are recharged. Gotta get it done so people have time to forget about my annual meeting until I send them a reminder the week before. Like herding cats I tell ya! :) For fun tonight I get to put together all my tax stuff. That oughta give me nightmares! :D

Don't mean to come across as callous LL. From my perspective, dying is the final chapter of living at least in the earthly sense. And you're right, these sheep are for food and fiber, a lesson I was taught very early on. Compartmentalization if you will. Now, if you want to see me upset for a while, watch what happens if and when we lose one of these Border Collies. That puts a damper on everything.

We don't get to choose. Many of us, animals included don't deserve the ending we get. Always reminds me of this scene from one of my favorite Clint flicks:

Good morning gents and lovebigbluegills to. Woke up here to fresh snow on the deck and rabbit prints. Must be someone new to my yard as he or she does not know about Duncan and his morning patrols. Not enough snow to worry about and already what snow that fell on the roof is melting and dripping off. Had to have the daughter trim my finger nails last night. The sound of them clicking on the keyboard was bothering  me and I guess it showed that I have not been writing much the past month. But they are working just fine this morning. The walker I was using after I got out of the hospital was put in storage but I still am using a cane for balance. Saturday will be like I am sixteen again as I will be back to reclaiming the Tahoe from the wife as I will be driving again. Seat will get adjusted and my radio stations will be front and center on the radio. I see my first stop will be to Amy's Bakery for a well deserved slice of apple pie and maybe a cookie or two just in case I need them.

Good morning. I'm gonna cook my self a fried egg n cheese sandwich, bacon and simply potatoes fried in the bacon grease.  Leftover chili when I get home from fishing and hot hamburger sand for dinner. Weather is supposed to be 50 in bemidji so this will be my last time on the ice this year. Unfortunately, I have to work all weekend.  I look forward to getting moving on making sausage next week. Have a good day.

I read this morning about a State dinner for the Canadian Prime Minister.  Quite a controversy about using Vermont maple syrup vs stuff from Canada.  WH Chef had a good answer, "it's what's easily available from our food service."  You know it's the real stuff and not Aunt Jemima.

The menu includes a bunch of stuff I can't easily spell but many of the items I had a grasp on what they are.  There was one main item I could spell....Lamb Chops.  I'm pretty sure the White House Chef is one of you guys but he has an alias.    My first guess is Livin the dream.  He kind of popped up out of know where with his story.

Whomever it is I'm sure he's using an unsecured server and before long we'll all be lined up at a congressional hearing with name placards with our HSO names on it.  Probably be a good kick off for our reality show we're starting.  We should have Bobby Bass pick a them song for the show and he can pick the performer from his favorite show, The Voice to sing it.

I can hear RH getting questioned by some senator, "Is it not true that you were born in Germany and live near a nudist colony?"  We're going to be famous.

just don't be pickin snacks up at any convenince store!

no no.  I told a good friend of mine that I was having C store issues and he gave me a nice talk about it and I'm on the mend.  We can all get better and this time the advise was "free".

Now I've become the C store dawdler.  I just take my time and pee people off behind me.  It's their problem now!!!
