Popular Post RebelSS
*YAWN* Brrrrr......said the fluffy gray squirrel. C-c-cold said the huddled bunny. Chipchipchip said the puffed up Chickadee. it's,-2 here and I can feel it in my bones. Maybe I should bump the heat up past 64* in here, huh? The RA has a really good whole-body ache going on for the last couple days. Never did make it to the carwash yday; just hurt too darn much. Doc appt this am, then groceries, quick run to the gun club to do a security assessment for them, THEN maybe the carwash... who knows. I need to get a different breakfast routine, it's always an egg or two, sunny side up, over easy, scrambled eggs, (Fake eggs in a carton) a variety of omelets, Rebs McEggwich, couple sausage, toast, juice. I'm sick of eggs and sausage. Do not like cereal in am, reminds me too much of when I was a kid and had to dump it in a bowl for my breakfast before school. Ala David Copperfield's measly bowl of gruel.Too much cereal eating back then. I'll have to come up with some other ideas. Think I'm gonna crack open a can of Spam here and make an Egg Spamwich for breakfast, I have no idea what that is, just have to invent it as I go. Stay warm guys, off to the invention laboratory, aka kitchen. Popular Post LindellProStaf
Ya cold here too -13. Supposed to be a nice warm up starting Sunday. I love eggs, sausage, or bacon on weekends. Sometimes we split a can of corned beef hash fried. Then I put 2 eggs sunny side up on top. Man that is good. Couldn't do it everyday though. During the week by wife makes me a smoothy. Protein powder, banana or other fruit, almond milk, flax seed oil and yogurt. I love them. I can drink it down while I am making my lunch for work. Then a couple of cups of coffee while I load up the pellet stove in the front room and then fill up the wood burner as I get in my old Ford knock around truck and head for work. Of course now I usually have to check in here to see what is up too. Have a great day. The weekend is getting close. Juneau4
Balmy 5 here with bright sunshine, squirrels and birds seem happy in the feeders and the cat enjoys watching and drooling, knowing that theres no chance of catching any. Something like me watching fishing shows. Better go fill the feeders and put some water in the bird bath. Have a good one and think positive. RebelSS
Please do not watch the fishing shows during the dead of winter, Juneau. May be hazardous to your pocketbook. I've been watching them, and last week found myself outside the Lund dealer after looking online at the new rigs....wishful thinking. The ol' Rebel is gonna have to stay in the family, unless I win a lottery or something. It's still like brand new, so it'll work. Besides, if I did win a lottery and bought a new boat, the lakes would close up due to the impending drought we'd be sure to get. leechlake
Today is "helping others is the best way to help yourself" day. Good morning. I'm pretty good at that one so I figured I'd double my normal efforts. It can just be a simple conversation with someone who may need that in their life. The weekend talk above reminds me of the 5pm radio show out of Bemidji. I don't know how many times I've been out on the deck at the cabin, tying some rigs up to head out fishing and the horn goes off on the radio and they play "Everybody's Working for the Weekend" at 5pm. It's funny how much a guys attitude can change in one minute, 459pm is way different than 5pm, especially on a Friday. Unfortunately, cell phones have changed that a bit but I will dwell on the positive. LLL picked up a hat trick last night, team won, was a very uncheap game by both sides. The back checking was a little lacking by triple L. It's nice to see your kid working a little harder but I do remember the ice sheet seemed uphill on the back check some nights. Belle, the knife sheath swallower got quite a bit of loving last night at the hockey party. One of the families had to put their old black lab female down recently and Belle became the surrogate to be scratched, rubbed, and loved. Pretty sure she liked her role. Admire the sunshine today fellas and Reb...I'd knock one of those tasks off of the list for sure. There's more time tomorrow rather than stuffing it in all one day. Good luck with the Dr appt. Popular Post RebelSS
Thanks, LL. I find I do best when I go non-stop. Always have. The more I have to do, the more I like it. Was always told I tried to do way too much. Was also told that's half the reason my body is such a pile of dump, ortho doc said things are all worn out. That's the way I was brought up. Dad had me get out and get my first job at 14 years of age. After school and weekends, busboy at a restaurant. That restaurant is still in business. Might haveta stop in some day and reminisce. Maybe I'll get a free piece of pie and coffee. Worked a full time job and a part time job almost all my life. Regret it now; kinda worked my life away. Trying out a new doc today at a different medical center to see if I can get some pain relief and improve my situation, or at least a better viewpoint than the one I'm getting now. Lotsa good Docs out, I like more than one viewpoint. Enjoy what ya have when ya have it, ya never know when things may go *POOF*. Some of the best days I've spent on the water has been in a 12' Sea Nymph powered by 7.5 Sea king. I've had the boat and motor for over 30 years and still use it a dozen times a year. If I was to sell the boat, motor and trailer I wouldn't get $350 for all, but I sure get a lot of enjoyment out of it. The looks from the guys with their bass boats and high end equip. is priceless when I show up on a certain small lake with that rig being pulled by a rusted out 95 Ford f-150. I bet some have more $ in electronics than what everything I show up with is worth. My little Snoopy tackle box really impresses them. Now you've got me excited. bobberineyes, LindellProStaf, RebelSS and 3 others
RebelSS
Aha!! The ol' Wards Sea king! I still have a broken throttle lever with the ball on it from one of those, a memory from the one time just my Dad and I went up to Cass Lake, stayed at a cabin, and rented a little boat. The stupid lever broke off right away...but we finished the entire week going VERY slow. Dotch
Chilly one here this a.m. About 0 to - 4 at choretime depending on which thermometer you wanted to believe. At least the sun is out and that seems to make everyone a little cheerier. Man, breakfast is one of those meals I wish I had more time for. I like breakfast, don't get me wrong. The problem is getting time in the morning to make it. That and some dietary restrictions enter in. Weekends I like to do the cooked cereal thing, oatmeal, Malt O Meal, whatever. Dad always said oatmeal will stick with you all morning and he was right. During the week it's cold cereal, coffee cup to go and keep moving. I tend to make breakfast stuff for lunch or supper whenever it works. French toast is easy, over easy eggs, omelets, toast and jelly, sausage and bacon occasionally. Wife gets migraines triggered by cured meats and have to be careful on the cholesterol myself or so I am told. Got rid of the office pest quickly. Still doesn't have his snow moved. He's heading to OH tomorrow so unlikely he'll make an appearance. Whew! Heading to the Gopher women's BB game tonight with some friends so looking forward to that. Mrs. Cheviot volunteered to do the chores so I can go. No lambs on the ground yet so chores aren't the headache they will be in a few weeks. My boat is a throwback too. A '77 or '78 model Blue Fin 14' with a '90 model 15 hp Evinrude longshaft. Nice for getting in and out of and around on puddles but not much for bigger water. It needs to see more action but finding time and energy , again. My body is starting to wear out too. Got whacked in the knee by a ram a couple months ago. Not sure if the bump is just fluid or if there's a hunk of knee in there. Sure gets sore just like the left shoulder which has continued to deteriorate this winter. Had cortisone shots in that a few years back but have a feeling it's closer to bone on bone now. Trying to put a heavy coat on really sucks anymore. But like everyone else, bite my lip and ramble on. Juneau4
Gee Dotch your modern with that motor, my main boat is a 14' 76 lund with a 82 Johnson 9.9- about 3 tanks of gas last me a year I know the feeling of that bone on bone Had to have a hip replaced a couple years ago and now the left shoulder needs something done with it. Oh well it's just a sign of some age and I'm glad I lived long enough to have these aches. leechlake
being a self proclaimed genius I sold our old 14' Nadan that had a 78 9.9 Evinrude on it and got a 16 lund and an electric start 25 horse. We use it at a small lake at my dads. No trailer, can't hardly move it and the 25 horse is too much motor for that small lake. When the battery is dead it works even worse. Have you ever rowed a 16 footer with a 25 horse with oars made in 1975 that are too short? Keep what ya got. But there was a day when I used to run the old 12' Jon boat with a 7.5 hp air-cooled Clinton. Would lay down in the boat and steer it my leaning one way or the other, Pretty stupid now days but I did it all the time back in the day.
