I'm game!  I was too late to get in on the last one.  Seems like someone has to take the initiative to run it and maybe someone else volunteer the giveaway?  Perhaps someone else could volunteer a secondary give-away in case the winner is the one who volunteered the prize??

What's it cost to ship something that should stay cold (or how?).  Assuming food is the prize and the winner might live on the banks of the Rainy and the prize provider is in Rochester (using two frequent posters for example  ) .  I'd personally have no problem meeting up with someone if they're somewhat close - great way to meet folks on this page.  But it might be tough depending on the outcome of the contest getting refrigerated items to the winner.

When a package is shipped within MN how much time do you think it stays in a heated building versus being in a truck during transport?  I'm guessing if you froze the food item before shipping and did some minor insulating of the package the food item would most likely be just fine before arriving at its destination even with normal shipping.  You'd just have to guard against it thawing during the brief time its in the post office buildings at the start and end of shipment, otherwise it should be in a truck in sub freezing temps.

That worked out well with Boar's giveaway, as we live about 30 miles apart. Perfect opportunity to meet and talk a little, not to mention swapping some smoked goodies.

I don't have much to offer in the smoked goodies department right now.  About all I could offer as a prize at the moment is my whit and charm, its up to you to decide if that's a prize or a curse.

Ok I am finally back on board boys.  I had to do the History, Settings deal and it worked.  Hey Boar I am up for a Vikes contest.  I will donate a Lindell Ice Rig if that works for you.  Also a Lindell Rod Holder.  My wife uses them for bird feeders, chimes etc.  I use them for fishing of course and hanging tape rolls on in the shop and other things.  If it works for you Boar I will do a Rod Holder at half time and a Ice Rig at end of game.  You let me know and where to send them to after the game.  No problem sending cold food at this time of year I'm thinking.  Wouldn't bother me in the least.

Cool. I don't have much for homemade goodies from this year's deer, yet.  But we had our party deer processed by a local guy who does some very good work and I have an ample supply of Jalenpeno/Cheddar smoked brats and fresh Blue Cheese brats. I'd be happy to part with a pack of each - my wife would be even happier as she wont eat it and she complains about the freezer space it takes

I'll be making more sausage soon and would be willing to give some up [smoked sausage or cooked].  Only thing is the winner would have to wait till it's made, but I would ship it or meet up somewhere.  I usually give away some at the Grindstone GTG.  Gave away some Canadian bacon last time.  We just drew numbers.  good luck.

with all the prizes I may try a little harder this time, not that Boar's Polish were anything to sneeze at but we may have get busted for gambling pretty soon.  Speaking of that, we could have our own Meat Raffle some time.  Funds could go for computer repair if RH's ever goes down again.

for safty sake, i fee.we need to.stick with nonperishable like what LPS IS OFFER WHICH IS WAY COOL!  im disqualifieing myselffrom those since i have plenty of each. we also need to stick with smoked items of meat..fresh brauts i fear would be to iffy, but ive packed meat rolled up in alot of newspaper which is an excellent insulator. so lets.do this, barry you can halftime and final, everyone else who wants to donate a prize can come up with their own idea like, number of sacks in the first half as an example. once thats figured out we need a contest only thread where you list your game of chance, people.gusse and prize giver.keeps.track of their game of chance. no silly banter coments, it canget hard to filter threw all that.as this will.draw qukte a few participants.dose anyo e have any other ideas. maybe the start of the games of chance can start at noon sunday. or is it a noon game? some one pick an entery time and end.

Ok Boar, this is your deal.   Like I said,  1 Lindell Rod Holder for closest total score at half time.  I Lindell Ice Rig for closest total score at end of game.  I will ship to the winner. I am saying half time total is:  13 - 10 Vikes so that means 23 total.  End of game I am saying 24 - 21 Vikes so 45 total.
