Well Im glad I dont work till tuesday, we Had our annual flag football game that alwyas turns int shove and trip footbal with an occasinal grudgematch of takle here and ther. had a few mid air collisions that resulted in my have a slight concusion that rocked me pretty good.BUT IT WAS AWSOMe!!!! old guys won!  the we mixed it up the teams and the i dont remeber who one. but after 3 hrs of playing your body tells you you might be 48 but in the shape of a 60 year old. Man I got do something about that.

Boar- as a hockey coach and I'm sure this applies to all sports these days, we are given a lot of concussion material.  At first I thought it was over kill but  I have been involved in quite a few ranging from some that seemed brutal and the kid was back in a bit over a week to some that looked benign and the kid took forever to get better.  I won't even tell you to go to the doctor because you won't (and I probably wouldn't either).   By the way there is no such thing as a "slight" concussion.  Here are some things kids are told to avoid.  Being practical I'd say to you here are some things you should limit:

1.  "Screen time"- whether it's TV, Computer, Cell phone.  All those things stimulate brain activity.  When my son had a concussion , he wanted to get back on the ice bad enough that he followed this rule, he listened to stand up comedy on netflix.  It's almost as good as seeing it too.

2.  Loud music  including ear buds.

Here are some things that for an adult you should do:

1.  back rubs from your wife, they stimulate all sorts of positives and yes  you can even culminate the back rub with...

2.  get a lot of fresh air that doesn't involve strenuous work.  Ice fishing would be ideal.

3.  sleep.  At first your wife should wake you up every two hours to check on you, as long as your both up...

4. sleep.  After 48 hours you'll need some sleep for two reasons; the concussion and #3.  Sleep in if you can.  Most of us can't do that "sleep in" thing but if you can go for it.

5.  Have the wife and kids clean the garage.  The dust that's accumulated and the blood and hair from deer butchering pose a threat to slipping in the garage and hitting your head.  Each concussion is exponentially worse than the previous one.

Seriously, keep an eye on yourself and actually have your wife look at you and see if you're sleepy, eating less, slurring your words more than normal and at times where you shouldn't be.  Take care.

I'm I wrong in stating that the price of eggs these days has two causes and not necessarily in this order :

1.  avian flu

2. eyeguy letting the cat out of the bag on easy hard-boiling egg techniques., smoking etc?

sorry guys :P

Vey good tips. My assumption of a slight cocussion is probably overkill, just havent been rocked like that since I got blidsided at a keg from two jeleous boyfreinds. they ended up getting concusions. but I apreciate the tips and concern. my wifes a 22 yr vetern RN studing for her Doctrict plus my daughter is also studying for her doctrict, and i need simple spelling stuff. Im in good hands. My wife makes me sign a waver before I go, If I come back crippled she get to trade me in for 2 20 yr olds.

Here is the turkey on the Weber. Charcoal with some chunks of hickory for flavor. Drip pan under the bird with Swansons chicken broth to be used to make gravy. You have to tie it up real tight so it will not get loose while spinning.

after the leftover Turkey debacle at the in laws yesterday I'm making a turkey today.  First time for me in the fryer.  I'm going to follow the tips you guys gave me and do it up around 6pm or so.

I thought I may not be hungry for turkey after yesterday but by reviewing this thread  and these photos my concerns are zero.  Man that skin looks good on those birds.
