jwilli7122
tomahawk- i havent hunted there but i would guess that the windom area would be great. Saw an insane amount of birds near another southwestern town this past weekend. Where we were, the best spots were groves, tree/bush/fence lines, and of course grassy ditches. Even shot one off of a black dirt field on the way to a fenceline!

Scott Steil
NELS, the last two years the pheasant populations up North have been growing. They used to be rare, now they are common. The area around Clarissa has tons of birds, even up to Park Rapids. We see a lot at our cabin South of Park Rapids.------------------Mille Lacs Guide Servicewww.millelacsguideservice.com

Goldy
Fishface5 there are two pheasant game farms located on the east side of Leech by Federal Dam. I would have to figure that it might have been a game farm bird. I hunt Baders Pheasant Run a few times a year its a high quality run family busness. You turn east where the road goes to Silver Hook resort. Give them a try if your in the area.
BLACKJACK
Had a great hunt last night, a buddy had permission to hunt 120 acres where the corn had just gone out (in Kandiyohi county). Three of us had 6 birds in an hour! With the snowy rain, the birds were holding tight. Fun. Pheasant hunting is only as good as the land that you have to hunt on. Lunker
I'm almost too embarrased to report this one. Went out today with a couple of guys and the dog, hunted most of the day, all on public lands north of the cities. Flushed 3 big old roosters throughout the hunt, I missed one, and my bro missed the other 2. Probably the easiest wingshot ive ever had but took me a little by surprise and missed two shots at it. It's the dogs first year, and I think he was a little dissapointed in us. That was only my second hunt this year, and now im pumped. Gotta get back out there. Jim Bob
Took a couple of boys out to Kansas for the Youth Hunt this weekend. Saw over a 100 birds Saturday! Took em a couple hours but they got their limits. Sunday same thing as far as numbers but those boys couldn't hit a thing. Had a great time, can't wait for the opener next week. Guest
The hunting has been outstanding around here. Hit the cattails this weekend before the storm. High numbers holding tight just the way I like it. Talk to alot of guys who havent seen any they were hunting the high ground yet. You guys dont make the same mistake. Dano it has gotten better since you were here, unbelievable. The dog is loving the cattails looking for another visit from you after deer season. Using my neighbors computer havent got mine fixed yet hunting is to good. Have to give me a call. GOODLUCK PLENTY BIRDS TO GO AROUND
