We tried to get a group photo but as soon as we started to gather the ice started cracking and we thought we might get wet.

The new Nord Lord is Jake. Sam took second and newcomer Ed in third. As usual it was a blast. I'm looking forward to next year already!

Not much!!!

depending on who measured, 4-4.5" and getting honeycombed and soft. 

I was shocked to see some wheelers on the ice. Not worth the risk in my opinion. 

No fish seen or speared and no flags tripped today for my group. Very slow and with the fog rolling off the open water it was spooky. 

Here's our next upcoming generation of spear'ers.

All the way home Sam kept grabbing the trophy decoy, and the Kids one and looking them over inch by inch.  Those of you that have one you know how hard it is to get a teenager exited but he really has a great time at this event.   Thanks for another great weekend!

Jake and I had a great time. Thanks to all that work to put this on!  Jake and I will be back to see if he can retain the Nordlord trophy. He is now hooked on spearing after 2 get to gators. Next year we will try to get some more newbies to come and enjoy the weekend with a great group of guys and gals.

Yes, it felt a little dicey and the walk and drag wasn't really tough until you hit the muddy access.  I could've done without the wheeler.

Thanks for to those who had a hand in putting this event together again - it's much appreciated!  I enjoyed the entire weekend just for the social aspect.  It's a break that I needed.

Sunday afternoon was eerie out there with the fog rolling back in and so many less people.  I was the only house I could see when I packed up and left.

I had more action on the tip up than I did in the spear hole but both yielded fish so I was happy.  I would've liked to see one of those bigger girls some of you saw though!  I'll just have to keep at it.
