Twas the night before bear baiting 2015

        Twas the night before bear baiting, and i cannot beleive, the buckets seem heavier, time to beak out the aleive.

    These bones keep telling me, with each passing year, "Boar I keep saying to stick with small deer.

      No I shall not, I will portage these buckets till im physically shot.

     My buckets and totes are stacked high as my head,

crud, some tipped over and  hit my wifes sled. I thought realy quick for something to say, which excuse should I use, so i can go out and play.

     "Theres a rat in the garage!" I started to speak, her left eyebrow accended, her curiosity peaked.

"Youve got to much bait"!! she shouted aloud, "Your fixing that sled"!! (was that a mushroom cloud)

    "That comes out of your allowence"!! She blew up and left, buying all of that bait ,Ive got nuthing left. Honey I'm sorry, how carless of me, I'll take care of it soon, soon you shall see.

She left in a huff, and spoke no more of it, Its time to go baiting, take your sled and shove it!

     I wish I was brave enough to say something like that, its off to the woods and look for bear scat.

On trudgeing, on tripping, on stumbling around,the sweat stings my eyes as i fall to the ground. Bear baitings the best and I am in my blue heavon, I anxously wait for more bait from xx1957xx. Hes on his way now, with a truck load of stuff, My wife will act out like the troll from 3 billy goats gruff.

Its a tough time of year for our wives for some reason, but Im pretty darn sure its got nuthing to do with bear baiting season.

When this is all over, I'll shower her with gifts, untill that time comes, we'll have plenty of riffs. to the far side of the bed at night she will shift.

I'll make it up to her like I have always before, i justneed to tag out and be home before 4.

Its getting harder to end this, so its time that I do, I wish you all luck with large piles of bearpoo.

A large bear for you all, this I am praying, if not shoot a buck......hey im just saying.

Thanks for the laugh this morning, I have to wait one more week to get up to the cabin, and it would be much worse if it wasn't so dam hot out there, but i'll take the a/c at home this weekend!!

I really don't even need to bait this year.  The bears are hitting my clover plots hard.  They love eating clover.

Do you guys use any kind of scent attractant? I had very little activity on my sites last year, and was thinking that this year I need to work on a better way to pull them in from a distance. I used a combo of liquid smoke and anise last year. Although it smelled great right away, I don't know how long the scent stays strong.

just to elaborate on my previous post, becaus i was at work, fryer grease is awsome, i go thru about 100 gals. a season mixing with doughnuts and stuff to store bait but about half of that gose to the trees,I take a water cannon and douse the area heavy, i shoot it up intot he trees 30-40 ft and let the wind do the rest. i have used green death with great results,carmel sxtream works great too. Its not so much i feel to HAVE to use an additive but i Like to experiment. this year Im using one Ive never used before. and dont think to many have either.  but brass tacks, I use fryer grease alone in no qouta where I dont have alot of compition, and hunt for addittiveswhen im in a more competitive lottery zone. Alright thanks boar, this is in a no quota area and while there are bears in the area I don't know how close I need to be to bring them in. I will experiment a little and thanks for the tip.

Karlstad area. I got ahold of some grease and loaded the baits up, now see what happens. How often do you check your baits?
