Permit carrier defends himself and kills robber

Recommended Posts

You will see this story in the MSP media.  Man carrying,   with permit, a pistol.   Bad guy and his pals want to hold him up. He pulls his own pistol and shoots. Bad guy dead.  Good guy alive. Without going nuts about this we need to see more of this. Learn, study, think examine your own emotions and capabilities. THEN....learn to carry and shoot.....shoot.....shoot.

Just remember to use your head.

That'll learn the bad guy for not being so bad. It boils down to the right guy packing, and knowing what to do.

Saw that when it came out the other day. Sent it into NRA for the Armed Citizen column in their Rifleman magazine. Guess the punk wasn't as bad as he thought. That's why I handle/practice EVERY day at least a bit with all of mine. Live, love, eat, sleep, practice with it in the light, in the dark, every possible situation you can, because when the s___ hits the fan, you won't be ABLE to choose how, when, or why.

I am curious what happens when they release the name of the law abiding citizen.  We are already hearing about how the deceased was a great kid and the family is now questioning the number of times he was shot.  Will Pitchfork Nation be ready to mobilize?  Will the shooter have his business picketed?  Will he receive death threats?  Will "Child Killer" be spray painted on his garage?

Mom is already working the narrative.  From the Start Tribune:

Broadbent’s mother, Leeann Broadbent, said Monday that her son didn’t “have that kind of heart” to pull a gun on someone.

Broadbent, who was going into his junior year at Henry Sibley High School in Mendota Heights, was active in sports and had started getting “in a little trouble here and there, but nothing like this,” his mother said. “If someone pulled a gun on him, he would have dropped [his]” rather than shoot.

Hold it right there!   A junior in high school. Mother quoted as saying "if someone pulled a gun on him he would have dropped his rather than shoot."

Excuse me madam- what was that gentle soul,   a JUNIOR in high school,   doing with a pistol in his possession in the first place!!??

Mom was probably at home wasted on whatever drug of choice she uses. I have absolutely no sympathy for those type of people who are involved in garbage like that, (friggin' gang-banger) yet when they suffer the consequences, they scream the loudest. Spent my career dealing with that, and I have absolutely zero tolerance for it. I applaud the permit holder. Unfortunately, he will need an attorney for the civil suit that is certain to follow brought by the whining, crying, family of the deceased "angel". Watch it turn into another race issue and dissertation of why her perfect little lamb was cruelly singled out.

Boy, she sure knows her kid alright,  grew up the right way. Must have been some sort of rule in the house hold, if you draw first and the other guy draws, just go ahead and put it down with your hands up......

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
