We're number one, we're number one, we're number one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! smile

Not sure when we'll get out first, but I'm certain we'll get out as soon as we can. We've also got a trip planned for the first weekend in May with NoWiser and there are a LOT more birds down where he's at than where we're at. I'm getting itchy to get out- should be fun!

Yep, all quiet for Ryan and me. We're headed out tomorrow with a couple buddies to try help them get birds in ND. Should be fun! We'll get out locally a week after that, then a couple weeks later with NoWiser. Looking forward to all of it!!!

Team #1 we are on the board. Although it won't score high. I only had Tuesday and Wednesday to hunt. Looking at the forecast on Monday I decided I would take any legal bird that I could. I have never had much success turkey hunting in the wind, and the forecast was calling for 30 mph winds both days.

Tuesday, up at 3:30 and make the hour drive to my hunting spot. I have about a mile walk once I get there. Get all set up and have 30 minutes to spare before hunting time. I hear a bunch of gobbling to the north of me which get my hopes up. When the sun gets up, all goes quiet. A bit later I see movement across the field. A decent gobbler and 2 jakes behind him. They slowly make there way closer to me. The gobble gets to about 100 yards and starts to angle away from me. At this point I try a bunch of different calls to get his attention. He never once gobbled or fanned out. Just kept right on walking. The two jakes seem to want to do the same thing. I call a little harder. One seems interested, but the other wants to follow that tom. They both start getting further away. I hit the call hard again. The one that seems interested starts to come my way, bringing the other one with it. They come right up to my decoys, safety off, trigger pulled, 2015 turkey season was over for me one hour into the hunt.

WTG dukhunt! Way to get us going! We were awfully quiet in here for a long time... I hope to contribute to this sometime soon, but I'm not sure how much I'll get out for the next ten days or so. Hunting with NoWiser after that, which I'm optimistic about.

Well my plans were delayed for a couple more days for hunting. Due to a Professor saying I need to redo a paper, because I missed the mark. I out of the 3 papers I have turned in 2 were perfect scores and one was fail. I do not get how I did so bad on that one. O well I will fix it and than hunt hard to get a turkey.

Sorry guys My hunt is over and I didn't score. I hunt public land. One day I called a large tom from a flock across a road from private land. Got him to come from about 150 yrds. but he wouldn't commit to cross the road. Good luck .

I was totally bummed to expect to report that we struck out this year, but just when I started to hear a large lady warming up her voice a nice tom gave Ryan the chance he needed!  I've entered it into the contest submission thread (if I missed anything for that, someone please let me know).  I'd guess we were in the blind this Spring somewhere north of 150 hours.  Ryan is relentless and doesn't give up very easily!  I'm one proud dad today!!!
