candiru
ND goes to March 15. With the high water, Northern populations are in great shape all over the state. I have speared and angled on a couple of prairie lakes in the central part of the state with a lot of 25-30" fish. Sakakawea is in great shape right now. There are good numbers of 30 plus inch fish along with plenty ion the mid 20's. Visibility is good and the ice is not as thick since it did not freeze over completely till Jan 6th. Oahe south of Bismarck also has lots of good fish, although I am unsure about visibility. http://gf.nd.gov/news/register-darkhouse-spearfish-

fishuhalik
Sak was awesome for the 2 winters I was there. In the late season we'd have 40+ fish days with 3 people fishing. Lots of 2-7lb fish & enough 36"+ fish thrown in to make ya excited every time a flag went up. Never speared it but we got fish everywhere from 4'-14' & it woulda been easy to spear
fishuhalik
Also, some of those little pothole lakes are incredible. One in particular was LOADED with 26-34" pike. We filled our 15 fish limit one day in 45 mins. It was madness
minky
In early 2014 we were around Lehr ND, lots of nice pike landed while we were walleye fishing.I would like to make a trip out there to spear March 2016.
aquafang
SD is year round for all inland lakes for northern pike with some exceptions such as lakes with a sustainable population of muskie. There are a few others. Catfish is year round also. See regs for details
lungdeflator
Just pulled my house off of Sakakawea last night. Sat a total of 8 hours yesterday and saw 15. Speared a 7.5 for the freezer. Saw a couple that were over 10lb easily, but they both came flying in only once. It was 44 degrees and getting warmer out here. Water was starting to cloud up. candiru
60 degrees and some mid-March sun this coming weekend could make a portable fishouse plenty warm inside. Shoreline ice will start getting bad as well.
lungdeflator
Saturday I plan on tip ups all day with a few friends. If the water is clear enough, we will probably setup the porty and do some spearing.
