hamms-scooter
Who is running one of these shacks on the ice this year? I'm picking one up after having the otter t600 with the black coating that flaked off like crazy. My buddy has the xt900 which is awesome. Looking forward to the new otter. BrianF
Love mine! Complaints are few. A seat once slid off and out of the sled while pulling it behind my snowmobile. Another snowmobiler later found it, followed my track to our cabin, and returned the seat. Good on him for being such a Samaritan. Just be sure to secure the seat from inadvertently coming off while towing behind a snowmobile or wheeler. Also, the poles can be a bit of a bugger to put up when alone, especially in the wind! Besides those two minor things, I'd grade this product an "A".
fishinnut_3446
Don't have the cabin but do have the lodge and man such a big improvement over my frabil trekker dlx!So F ING warm little to no wind slap and like Brian said bit of a pain wit the poles. busse3775
Switched from Frabill to the Otter XT 1200 lodge and I love it. Its extremely warm and has plenty of space for two guys. The hitch is also a great accessory.
picksbigwagon
second season on the 1200, love it. if it is warm out, like saturday, we didn't run a heater in it until the sun went down and we then used a little buddy heater (3800btu's) and it kept it nice and warm.I have had an issue with my seat, not the one my son uses, just mine. The bottom pad is secured with snaps and they broke off. I am looking at the new mesh seats from Clam as a possible replacement, but I am not a regular size guy either. we bought the sportsmans caddy which is great, we did add smaller plastic containers in the caddy with lids to keep stuff a little more organized. I am going to be doing led light strips this summer so I can use them in my otter and in my pop up house as well
JoeMX1825
when you install the seat rail, install it a little lower than suggested, this will cause the seats to angle back a bit, installing at the set location angles the seats forward causing you to want to slide off... herefish101
when you install the seat rail, install it a little lower than suggested, this will cause the seats to angle back a bit, installing at the set location angles the seats forward causing you to want to slide off... This is great advise. I had to do some minor modification because the seats felt like they were leaning forward.
Esox_Magnum
I have the T600 and XT650. Love them both. Friends have the 1200 and also love them. We just prefer the bench seat.
landscaper
great reviews! I am looking at getting the XT1200 lodge or resort i guess but it will be next year.

LittleHuck
1st year on a new 1200 lodge, as others stated, seat rail is too high for my liking. Knowing what I do know, I'd have mocked up the seating system with some sort of vertical brace in the sled. otherwise no complaints, just wish I could get more use out of it! hamms-scooter
Well I got it and put it together it is one awesome shack! They thought of everything with this canvas and very easy assembly. I got the hyfax, tow bar and cover with it. seat does feel a tad high but not an issue. Wish I would have gotten it a few months ago. I liked the bench in my t600 but will not miss the black coating at all and like that the new one is nice and bright inside. last thing I need to get for it is sportsman caddy. Great product from Otter!
rbs
I have the 1200 lodge that I bought at xmas time. I absolutely love that thing! I just havent been able to use it enough. Added 2 stick on strip led lights and the clam battery box and it lights it up awesome. You can't go wrong with this. BTW thanks DTRO for the advice! hamms-scooter
Awesome! Well ive had this out on the ice a few times now and at 15 below with a wind I had the big buddy on low and had to turn it to pilot quite a few times.. Fishing in my vex bibs and sweatshirt. My wife was very impressed with how well it held in the heat. I got my sporstman caddy with some gift cards I had and that thing is great also. picksbigwagon
get some smaller storage boxes with locking lids to put stuff in that sportsmans caddie, it really keeps everything easy to find.
tisosys11
Looking at getting the pro xt cabin. .. Do the seats stay in place or do you have to remove them and put in the sled to get down to the 20.5" packed measurement? How well do the square tubes work when cold? vtx1029
yea the specs on their page are wrong. The length is way off! and yes you have to pull the seats to get to that spec. but they slide right off so it really takes less than a second to do. They square tubes work great. Much better than other houses on the market imo.
tisosys11
VTX - what is the actual length of the Pro XT Cabin? Can you leave the seats attached when packing up or does it only work if they are removed??
vtx1029
Its around 68" with the top on, looks like otter changed the dimensions on their page. I swear it said 64" last year... no problem leaving the seats on, its just to get to their packed dimensions you need to remove the seats.
