Diago
I fish mostly crappies and panfish. Would a 6" be better than the 8"?Does anyone have any experience with the reverse feature for cleaning a hole? Thanks,Jim
gill man
I still like an 8" hole for panfish. Not sure I ever caught a panfish that wouldn't fit through a 6" hole, but some bigger ones can get pretty tight. The main thing for me is a transducer and float take up quite a bit of room in a 6" hole, and can make tangling a little more likely.I use a 6" hand auger at early ice, and alwayd realize how much easier fishing from an 8" hole is when I move to my 8" power auger. Hawg
I would do the 8 but it's personal choice, lots of guys fish walleyes and northern threw a six.
JollyJoker
I love the reverse so far. I use it in a perm house and after you drill the hole and run it in reverse, I pull it out and push the rest of the slush in the hole and run the Ion in reverse one more time. Just have to skim the little bit left in the hole and your done. I don't know were all the slush goes but it does not come back up the holes anywere. hamms-scooter
I mainly chase panfish I run 6" Nils. No issues and if fish get off they can't turn around as easy. 26" walleye and 30" pike fit I know that lol. With electric drill 6 " would be my choice
