carlcmc
I purchased one of those Mepp's Timber Doodles that was being demo'd at cabellas. Didn't think much about it until i tried it this spring. I was standing on a point casting parallel to shore along the inside edge. Slow retrieve and a nice 3.5 lb bass came out of 6-8 inches of water from the very edge of the lake underneath some moss and inhaled it.First fish I have caught on it. Anyone else use it? Very nice to fish weedless. I had a light translucent brown with black flecks in it on.
Swamp Scooter
It works well for many species of fish not just the bass. I have used them over the years and had good success.
Lunker
I've had moderate success on them. Most of the fish I've caught on them were small pike though. Similar to the jawbreaker spoon which many people like. I don't really like either too much for bass.

Mark Christianson
Sometimes I wonder if this site is more trouble than its worth. Now I gotta go buy a darn Timberthingamabobber.
Lost
I've got one but haven't used it yet. Saw it demonstrated in the traveling fish-tank at the Outdoors Show. What are the suggested areas for using this tool? Anywhere there's spots to get stuck on?
Deitz Dittrich
Lost-Yes, anytime you have trouble working other baits is a good time for the timberdoodle.. Many of our lakes have Curly Pond Weed... The doodle is a great bait for working the edges and then letting it sink in the pockets..
