Lab Question!

I have had a few labs over the years. We got a chocolate that will be 2 in January. My question is, he loves to lay like this, and my wife swears up and down that it is not good for his hips. He has done it since he was a pup. Do any of you really see any issues with this. It must be comfortable to him. I don't remember any of our other dogs laying like this.

Nope, My chocolate Duncan will do it from time to time, I think he is just showing off how limber he is... I might have ya beat for weird positions, Duncan spends a lot of time sitting on the couch with his head on the floor on top of his front paws and the rest of him hanging down the front of the couch with his rear end firmly on the couch. It is like he can't make up his mind if he wants the floor or the couch so he takes up space on both. I would not worry and besides there is not really to much you can do about it.. Good looking dog.

Don't worry ice....it'll all be okay!LOL We had one lady who would stand with back feet on floor and front shoulders and head on bed and SLEEP like that for a while.

My Silly Sam would run himself to a rag all day and then get in back seat of boat, plane or truck and sleep with head hanging DOWN for an hour at a time.

The little lady we have now will lay on her BACK and sleep for a while and she prefers to sleep on the little round bed the 6-pound Pomeranian uses! How the hell she can get herself curled up that small is beyond me!

I think anything is normal with these dogs!

This is only one of his odd positions, much like your dogs. we live in a bi-level and loves to lay at the top of the steps with his head hung over the first step, looks extremely uncomfortable. And when he does sleep on his dog bed, his head is never on it, always hanging off the side on the floor. There is something about this dog that just makes me laugh, he has a personality like no other dog we have had before. Got to love them!

This is his favorite spot to lay, gets a little sun through the window. Spoiled rotten!
