JeremyCampbell
I checked some of the older posts on ice fishing boots and I think I narrowed it down too Baffin.I see they have many kinds but which ones will really get the job done?Usually...>I'm out 20-30 hrs a week hole hopping.> My feet sweat & get cold easily. > I don't mind a work out too much on the ice.Walking pulling a sled alot. > $350.00 max Thanks
bobbymalone
I have a pair of Baffin impacts and like them. I usually just wear a pair of regular athletic socks with them. My feet don't sweat too bad in them and forget about cold feet. I've never had cold feet in them even when not really active outside and -20.The downside is they are astronaut moon boots. They aren't too bad to walk in but you'll feel it in your legs the next day after putting some distance on them. Its also just sort of a pain moving around in close quarters like moving around in ice houses with stuff all over the ground. Beats cold feet though. Boar
I think any you can choose any good cold rated Baffin and be fine but ull need a sock layer to wick moister away sinse ur feet sweat alot, and get cold easily, a base layer like one would wear under armour for. might have a circultion problem, feet migh be to restristed in boots. mallardnwalleye
I have a pair that is going on 10+ years. Whatever you do get an extra pair of liners and vent your clothes so you don't heat up and sweat too much. Put the boots on a boot dryer or change liners after a hard day. Good luck! Summett
I have the Baffin Apex boot, and they are fantastic! Warmest boot I have ever owned. Just make sure that you have enough room in your boot. I've owned other Baffin boots before, and if they fit tight, they work like any other boot and your feet will get cold. If i recall, I ordered a size larger than my foot size, and they fit great.
401TE
I have the Apex boots. Mine are size 12's, I usually wear size 11.5, so no real difference for me in size. Best money I've ever spent on boots. Keeps my feet the perfect temperature all the time, I've never sweat in them. Plus, they're the most comfortable boots I've owned. The only downside is they're bulky, but you'll get that with any of the options when you're talking about boots like this.
Bjjams
I have the Eiger, a lot like the impacts but shorter. They are bulky but aren't real heavy and are super comfortable. I only like to wear them if the it's below freezing or my feet get too hot.
cam white
Most of us up here run the Baffin titans, apex second. Some guys prefer mucks, but not many. Invest in a second pair of liners, as well as a good boot dryer. Sweaty feet are your downfall. Try spraying them with anti-persperant to keep the moisture down. tazimna
Thirty years using "mickey" mouse boots and still best/warmest/totally waterproof boot ever made IMO. You can go for the white bunny boots, but they stick out when hunting from a ladder stand. And the best thing is that their under $100. LightningBG
I use the Apex. Super warm, but they are bulky and a little heavy. Good socks are going to be key if your feet are getting sweaty. Tough to have a warm boot without dealing with occasional sweat and the warmest boot on earth isn't going to compete with wet feet. Balancing act between warm for the sit, and keeping dry while on the move.
