SELLING BEAR HIDE

Is it legal to sell the hide from a legally taken bear? I got a smaller male this year and I only want the skull (and meat). How much is a hide worth?

Ingiv mine to a taxidermist some times they ned xtra for repairs and such. Its not worth anything. Dont think u can sell it anyay. Get it tanned an hang it on the wall.

Pretty sure you can sell the hide if you legally shot it.Call DNR and check.

Yes you can sell it to a fur buyer or licensed taxidermist. Last few I sold I only got $40 for them but that's still better then throwing them away.

Straight from the bear hunting regs.

"Sale of Meat, Organs, and Parts: May not sell meat or organs (including gall bladders) of a bear. May sell teeth, skulls, bones, hides, or claws of a lawfully taken bear. May not sell bear paws, unless attached to the hide."

there is a guy in perham Minnesota that may buy it or take it. he has a store called wildlifeminnesota and makes all kinds of stuff from all kinds of hides. few years back I talked to him about wanting bear hides and expressed an interest. not sure about now.

I agree I have issue with just getting rid of a bear hide but I already have a rug, shoulder mount and 3 pillows made out of bear hides. mamma would not be happy with me if I did something else with a hide.
