smsmith
Once we get some new facilities built many of the top players in the country will be begging to come and play here we wont even have to recruit. No offense...but what are you smoking? Top recruits are not going to beg to come to any Big 10 school...especially those that have severe winters. Let's see..a top quarterback can play in sunny southern California or in Madison, WI or Minneapolis, MN...gee...I wonder which he'll choose? Coaches in states like MN and WI have to keep all their best players home if they're going to stand a chance....that's the first step. Barry Alvarez did that in WI a long time ago and the trend has largely continued. MN needs to make sure that MN kids want to stay home and be a Gopher...get that done and the linemen should be taken care of...then go out and recruit the skill positions...and recruit them hard..and pray that a few will move to your cold market school. WI has built a tradition of being a running team. That means when a kid like Melvin Gordon grows up in Kenosha, WI...he wants to play for his run oriented home state University. MN has to build those traditions and team identities.. Coach Kill has done a good job and I think he'll continue..but UM has a ways to go before they're going to compete at the top level of the Big 10 annually. corncob
Recruiting will be the key to taking the next step up for the Gophers...A few 4 level players could push this program over the edge.....Go Gophers!
fishersofmen
No offense...but what are you smoking? Sarcasm oil. Got it from Colorado, going to be selling it here soon at Leafline Labs.
JBMasterAngler
Overall record doesn't matter. They finished ahead of Nebraska by way of beating them. All the big ten rankings show that. Looks like they jumped ahead of us in the AP poll, but I'm pretty confident we'll stay ahead of them in the playoff rankings. I'm not sure, but i'm guessing that will have an effect on bowl selections.

TR21HP
Can't figure out how you lose to Wisconsin a 14 team and drop out of the top 25. Pretty drastic change.
CaptainMusky
3 of the 4 losses were to top 15 teams. That should say something about this program. Pretty big improvement. A few mistakes here and there, improve the passing game and its a one loss season.

Huskie
I believe Illinois is bowl bound also. Give some credit where credit is due! All Gopher fans want now is a New Years Day bowl game and a victory!!
Bryce
Don't be completely surprised if they don't get it. Kill getting coach of the year helps but rodents still not who the host cities want. They want full hotels and restaurants, not a possible up and coming football squad.

JBMasterAngler
Nebraska is the only team that the gophers should worry about bumping them out of a better bowl game. Michigan isn't bowl eligible, and the other teams worth more ratings/attendance money are already ahead of the gophers. Not that rankings matter when the bowl games are over, but they'll finish ranked no matter who they play (if they beat them of course). Will probably help them more so next season. When is the last time the gophers started a season ranked?

LMITOUT
Gophers are projected to play Missouri in the citrus bowl.Tape them ankles up, Missouri. #7 is coming (and I'm not talking about the QB).
certified jumbo
Excellent bowl pick up for gophers!! What a year.Limit. Is that really the best you got. Lame.. ..
JBMasterAngler
Probably not a big deal, but the gophers finish the season ranked in the top 25...at 25! Anyway, CITRUS BOWL!!! How awesome is that? Not crazy about being matched up with Missouri, but certainly a much more winnable game than Auburn or Ole Miss. I was a little concerned, because the last bowl projection that came out had the gophers playing Tennessee in the gator bowl. This is much better! Now I have to sweet talk the MRS. into going to Orlando on short notice

If I was a betting man (which I am not) I'd put money on the Gophers to beat MO before I bet on WI to beat Auburn or OSU to beat AL.
Big Dave2
I wouldn't pick any of the 3.
