Light came on. Popped down to Oriellys Auto Parts. Used the small device they have to read the code and turned it off. FREE ! Nice !

But what caused the light to come on. Just turning the light off will not correct the problem. They should have given you a code number. That,s what the scanner they used is for

I read the code. small emissions leak. no biggy. 1999 subaru.

It it wasn't fixed than they did nothing for you. If the problem is still there they light will continue to come on until the repair is made.

That's why God made black electrical tape. A small piece on the dash and you don't need to worry about that light.

they saved me coin, not gonna spend a couple hundred in a dealership to turn it off. showed the code to the guy and no biggy. we will see if it comes back on. 200,000 on it. I have lottsa tape.

It works for anything you aren't going to fix so you don't have to look at the dumb light.

I figured I'd pop on here and say a lot of times emissions check engine lights can be fixed by "greasing" the rubber on the gas cap to soften it. If the seal leaks, it can throw a code.

HaHaHa!!! Hit the EASY BUTTON. Put the tape over the gauge. The vehicle will tell you when it needs gas.
