free ring tones

I have an android Samsung galaxy and I wanted to use the app with free ring tones, but they don't work all time. I asked a Verizon rep and she told me those free ones don't work. However, recently, the ring tones work some of the time and the other times my default ring tone works. The default works more than the free ones from the app. What's the truth on this? Are the only ring tones that work need to be bought from Verizon?

How hard is it to convert an mp3 into a ring tone?

I use music mp3s on my phone "SD card" for various ring-tones for different people. I dont convert them, I just set the song I want to hear..... I'm talking about what I hear when they call if you are talking about what the caller hears when they call me I dont do that type of ring tone, they just hear a normal ring when they call.

+1 here for zedge, tons to choose from and easy to apply the one you want. On the flip side my phone is on vibrate or silent 90% of the time so I really don't even mess with them anymore. Kind of a shiny new penny thing for me also e.g get a new phone play around customize do "cool" things for about 2 months and then back to being the tool you bought it for - internet first and foremost then email/text and voice. Oh and MP3 player - I have a 32gb card added on my Note3 and have about 28gb of music for the car the boat and well anything else.

They are very easy to make, I have been doing it for years, you can try Audacity software (free) and splice out 20 seconds of a song. If you need any more help let me know.
