A thank you to landowners!!

The season here in Minnesota is now over. I would like to take a moment to thank all of the landowners here on HSO and any that may happen to read this.

Thank you all very much for your graciousness, time, generosity, permission, and your friendship.

Without you, turkey hunting would not be where it is today. Without of you, many of us would not have the opportunity for such an enjoyable, addicting hunt.

Because of you, turkey hunting in MN, is alive and well.

Landowners, Thank you, a million times over.

Couldn't agree more! Just put together a nice "thank you" package for a new landowner that granted me permission this year. Some local cheese, sausage and real maple syrup along with a nice homemade thank you card.

I stopped at my landowners last night with my bag of goodies. He was shocked that someone would bring him a gift (even a small token) for letting them hunt. "Really? You come back next year, we'd be happy to have you." smile

Goes a long ways...

Absolutely! Going out of your way to thank the people who are kind enough to allow us to hunt on their land is important IMO. I always try to make sure anyone who is nice enough to let me hunt knows how much I appreciate it. I take a lot of pictures when I hunt and I have recently started to try share a few pictures with those who are nice enough to let me hunt on their land. The pictures (and a bottle of something or a gift card) go a long ways...

Definitely!

I alway give a package of fish, sausage, etc and stop by to update how we've been doing. Goes a long ways and I have a couple places that now only let our group on each spring.

I've met some really great folks through turkey hunting that I probably wouldn't have met any other way.

Couldn't agree more. I received permission to hunt a new farm this spring.

As a hobby, I do some wildlife art (mostly pencil sketches) so as a thank you I dropped off a framed and matted sketch of a Gobbler, along with a package of smoked venison cheddar sticks.

Small price to pay for the opportunity for my son and I to hunt some beautiful land (took a dandy three yr old Tom to boot)

Could not agree more with this post. We always get a few gifts for all our landowners also offer to help with any chores they need done. They all really appreciate it and they enjoy people hunting on their land that truly like to hunt and appreciate hunting and for the opportunity. Even when we are there for our hunt in NE we have a meal we invite all our landoweners into camp. Same in WI spot we cook a couple meals for them also and they love it and just like the company more then anything.
